If you haven't realized yet by my other comments, I'm BLACKPINK addicted. I'm a New York guy, always just listened to Rock, Rap and Pop. In September 2016 I read a tiny article in Entertainment Magazine about a new group to check out. BLACKPINK had debuted a month earlier and was breaking records. I checked them out and swear to G-d, I've watched them every day since. It's like finding a new color or flavor that you never knew existed! And what's even more enjoyable than their music is the girls themselves. Offstage they are literally the sweetest, most humble, down to earth, "adorkable" girls who love to goof around, tease each other and eat (A LOT!) They have zero ego issues, they're just as surprised at their fame as their fans are and are thankful for every moment. First of all, thank you for giving a chance to listening to Kpop especially to my favorite girlgroup within Kpop industry and welcome to BLACKPINK's universe. Secondly, i'm trully glad to find someone whose fully liking this song just like you despite back then in year 2020 there's still so many people who overcritizing this particular song, being salty about it and not even try to vibin with this song either, so yeah... once again thank you for being a genuine listener and also thank you for keep it as an open-minded person. From this reaction alone, specificly from what i've seen in your side commentary through the entire music video, surely i can tell that you have such a good ear and mannerism in term of listening to something's unusual. Like nowadays, it's getting harder to find a mature listener who sincerely wanna widen their horizon, and sadly there's also a lot of people who still can't really putting aside of their usual comfort zone. But yours is defiinitely different, even the way of your appreciation toward a rap artist while admiring her rap skill without a doubt giving me such a nice chills. Hey Sabina, I'm SO glad you checked out BLACKPINK! BTS and BLACKPINK are only alike because they are both categorized as K-Pop, their styles are actually very different and there is actually a nasty fanwar between the groups, best to enjoy them on their own merits as comparing them only attracts haters and "thumbs down"s. I LOVE the fact that you got their powerful "Girl Power" vibe right away, that's actually what the name "BLACKPINK" means. Their name was creating to redefine the common perception of the color "Pink". Pink has always been associated with Prettiness, BLACKPINK means to say that women can be Strong and Fierce (BLACK) while also being Pretty and Feminine (PINK). There's also a full choreography for most of their songs, the choreo video for HOW YOU LIKE THAT is definitely worth a watch as well (search HOW YOU LIKE THAT DANCE PERFORMANCE). If you want to see another video I'd suggest KILL THIS LOVE, DDU-DU DDU-DU and their debut hits BOOMBAYAH and WHISTLE. They also have two other recent hits LOVESICK GIRLS and ICE CREAM, which is a collab with Selena Gomez. The song was cowritten by Selena Gomez and Ariana Grande, among others. It's different from their other music but a fun tune! One more thing. Rosé, the girl with the silver hair, just dropped a solo single album (it's normal for them, she's not leaving). It's called ON THE GROUND and has broken many records already (KZbin views, #1 on two Billboard charts, etc.), please check it out. She grew up in Australia, the song is all English, she has a great Indie style, I think you'll like it!

I love both bands, I discovered first bts about 3 months ago and fell in love and since then I started watching some more K pop bands. I recommend you to watch more songs by both bands and there are many more k-pop bands you can watch but for me bts are always my favorite band not because I knew them first but because of their personality, performance, voices, amazing songs that each have an important meaning and message and they create Some of their songs themselves if it is in write, compose etc.. BTW, put on the English captions, in this and many of their videos (like Ddu du ddu du) they be talking smack to their critics/haters), and in this video they are talking smack to the haters that drive many Kpop idols to suicide, "Look at you (you worthless piece of S**t hater and all-round loser in life), now look at me (talented, beautiful and bringing in light and happiness to my fans) (also covered by English Priest). You will find all kinds of music genre influences in K-Pop. Since you're fairly new to Blackpink (and K-Pop), I suggest to watch the Blackpink documentation "Light Up The Sky" on Netflix.
