In the middle "long" part, was supposed to be the instrumental part where 7 instruments should have played but Gary sang them all. When he sang this song many years back, he played the bongos, and other instruments. No wonder his energy was zapped in the end. But still was an impressive performance! Bravo Gary V.!

Well its jazz and if you have been inside jazz clubs a performance can last up to forever..... most specially in this part of the show where they just let fly of their song/singing and instruments.... i forgot what its called..... then the place becomes electrified and the audiences go crazy.... really fun to be part of that!

Chick Corea is an American jazz artist known in the 1970's. He compose the hit song "Spain" originally sung by AL Jarreau who Gary Valenciano loves as as singer. Yes it is scathing in Jazz.

1973's original instrumental version by Chick Corea and Return to Forever at nearly ten minutes long is an indelible part of my teens. In 1980 Al Jarreau did two things I thought impossible, shrunk it down to 6:31 and added lyrics. Gary did a wonderful job but it's still a cover with a lot of influence from Al as well as other cover versions from artists like Bobby McFerrin and Stevie Wonder. I'm glad to see a new generation hear such a classic piece of jazz but Return to Forever's original will always have a spot close to my heart.

Unlike Al Jarreau, Gary V is more known as a pop artist here in the Philippines. I am surprised to see him perform this difficult rendition and must admit that he did justice to this piece.
