Recorded at the Gately on the Nile hotel on the 22nd November 2013 as part of the Singing Wells field trip to record the music of Eastern and Central Uganda.
The meaning of the song is: "When I die, those that will escort me to be buried, will be many"

+broos miller Not sure if it is too late, but I will try and help. I have known Matta since I was a kid - in 70's and 80's, and still think his music is great. Matta - the group band leader is blind. I was amased as a kid, and I am still amazed that he can sing so well and play instruments. The flute for me defines his musice - it is awasome! My dad owned pubs at a place called Iganga, 24 miles East of Jinja. We used to hire Matta to sing in the pubs. He used to come from Busesa - 6 miles on the Road to Nairobi from Iganga. If you want this particular group you have to go to Busesa.

+Henry Baisi Hey, Thanks for the reply, though sadly, it does come about 6 months too late. However, I did record some music while I was there, all of which can be found here. freemusicarchive.org/music/Broos/ Among all of this are 4 "albums" from the Uganda trip, including recordings of a musician I came to know of through Singing Wells. However, I do want to return and do more recording. I really loved the place. Feel free to make any suggestions about this.
