My husbands oldest cousin has Downs. She is SMART. You try to pull the wool over her eyes and you can’t. She is FUNNY. She cracks jokes all of the time. She is sarcastic and can “give it“ right back to you if you tease her. She has a job. She is always smiling except when someone dies, then she is a blubbering mess who is almost inconsolable. She loves to give hugs and receive hugs. She was told she wouldn’t live past 18. She is now 60! Her name is Mary and we’d be lost without her.

This may be unnecessary but when I was in my mother’s womb, pregnant with me the doctors said I will be born with Down syndrome and they asked my mom and dad if they wanted to abort me or keep me, the doctor kept saying how it’ll be better to abort me but without hesitation they wanted to keep me, they said no matter how hard it is, this was planned and we’re keeping her, when I was born I wasn’t born with Down syndrome but hearing that makes me think that I might’ve not even be alive in this world if my parents ever decided to abort me, later on when I searched my hospital it was a abortion clinic, obv 17 years ago it was just a birth hospital, this brought me to tears too, and I agree everyone deserves love🥺

when i was 15yrs old, i tried committing suicide. i took 20 pills. i was so close to death. my whole body swelled up. i got bumps all over my body. my throat was startin to close up and i could barely even breathe. i knew i was seconds away from death. i was gasping for air. i got scared and regretted it right away. i wished ive never done it. for the first time in my life, i cried out to God and told him i dont wanna die. i jus need help. plz help me. plz help me. i wept. within seconds, i felt this warmth, love and peace surround me. i knew for a fact it was God. within seconds, he healed my whole body. i could breathe. swelling was gone. he instantly delivered me from suicidal thoughts and depression after strugglin with it for 6yrs. psychiatrists and psychologists and takin their medicine never helped. the only thing that WORKED was when i cried out to God and asked him for help. he instantly saved me and delivered me and performed miracles on me. he gave me a new outlook on life. for once in my life i actually wanted to live and not die. that was something odd for me cuz for 6yrs i wanted to die so bad. my mom had cancer and shes the reason why i tried taking my life cuz i didnt wanna lose her. i lost her at 16yrs old and lost my dad at 17yrs old. i didnt kno Jesus until i was 24 n a half yrs old. im 25 now n my relationship with Jesus is so strong. hes helped me change into a whole diff person. ppl actually see the miraculous change in me. if it wasnt for Jesus, id be dead right now. The only healer u need is Jesus. hes our healer. Our daughter has Rett Syndrome. I first met her when she was about 10 years old. My wife and I have been together over 20 years now and have had 3 more sisters for her. I have met quite a few people with Downs Syndrome and they have all been the happiest, most positive people in the world. We would run into one young man frequently while taking the bus. We always had a good conversation with him. Another older man worked at a grocery store we frequent. I can't imagine anyone who could turn their back on someone because they had Downs Syndrome. I think that the rest of us could learn a lesson from them.

I had a cousin named Nikki who had down syndrome and epilepsy. The doctors said she wouldn't live long. She passed away at 36. She was the most loveable and kind person ever. I miss her terribly. I worked with disabilities as volunteer during my highschool, our town educated & understands these disabled kids, are no different than regular children, they just need a bit of extra care. therapy for kinesiology and speech is nice and they are good with math too. try teaching them card games. in Boston, Down's kids work packing groceries and other manual jobs. in New York City they marry each other and the kids are generally always normal children without Downs, family of course helps.

People have no idea how adorable and loving Down Syndrome babies are - they never cry nor irritable. My Professor said it and I witnessed it first hand. These kids are just there and only want to enjoy your warm hugs, cuddles & kisses. I fell in love with them while doing my Pediatric rotation during my medical training.
