Very helpful video. Was just what I needed to get started. Your video on the Amazon page sold me on this tent by the way. However I had a much harder time bending and putting the end of the top pole into the second grommet. Was afraid I would break it but through gentle pulling and tugging the fabric and pole all along the length I was able to get enough slack to just get it in. I put tent stakes at the 4 corners - through the short nylon loops just inside where the grommet holes are. I also used seam sealant (Gear Aid Seam Grip available from Amazon) on all sewn seems, even though the seams have tape on the the inside of the tent. Just because it's a good idea to always do that in my opinion. .

Cool I tried watching your video on the Amazon post of this tent and it kept freezing lol. I'm going on a week long backpacking trip this July and I NEED a reliable comfortable easy setup tent that isn't stupid heavy. This looks good and fits my budget!

Great video - I don't know if my tent poles were defective, but I'd also add wearing gloves while putting the tent poles together. I had fiberglass in my hand, when putting it together without gloves.

Nice job on the video, Nice to see some ladies into the outdoors posting comments! I have one of these for my Kayaking fishing adventures. Good cheap tent. It's a single layer so it can get some condensation inside, try to get as much ventilation as you can. Pretty easy to set up. Enjoy

I didn't read up does that little tent have the seams sealed in the bathtub? I would think so most likely it does, but if not you can buy your own rolled sealant tape heat gun on low put it right on I do that on backpacks simple things for the kids. With good old Star bright rain proof sealer conditioner now 100% rainproof I wonder why manufacturers does it that way then charging everybody an arm and a leg go figure.

I'm looking for a lightweight tent and I'm wondering about this tent as next year I'm going to do the West Highland way. Is this tent ideal? What's the waterproof rating? How strong is the tent under very strong winds as we do get strong winds and Gale force winds too. I enjoyed the video!
@DaredevilGirlDiana5 жыл бұрын
Hey there. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I just got it so I haven't used it for a trip yet. I set it up and left it in my backyard overnight while it was pouring rain all night. The tent was dry inside in the morning when I checked it. Here are the specs from the product page about it : "210D waterproof PED fabric PU 3000, oxford bottom fabric PU 3001, waterproof tape on every seam, to ensure the inside is totally dry under any rain situation even in the storm. Strong fiberglass poles guarantee the stability and long service life of using. Pegs and ropes make it stable" That is what the website says, but like I said haven't totally tested it in those conditions myself. Night Cat is supposed to have a double layer backpacking tent out soon. I'm looking forward to trying that one out. Keep an eye out for my video of how to set up that one. As with any new tent, I recommend setting it up in your back yard to test it before a big trip. Good luck on your hundred mile trip. That is going to be so beautiful! How many days will it take you?
@bushcraftandastronomer.37755 жыл бұрын
The west highland way starts near Glasgow and ends at Fort William. It's 96 miles and some peaple can do.it in a few days. You can wild camp along the way and I plan to take my time as I know I will be taking lots of photos of the highlands along.the way. I'd reckon about 2 and half weeks I'll take to do it. I recently bought MSR Elixir 2 tent but it's 2.4 kgs a bit too heavy but I'm impressed with the tent. West highland way gets alot of tourists trying the walk so April next year I'm doing it before most tourists come here and also before the midges come back the most hated hitting flying insect in Scotland so I'm planning now for trip in April.
@DaredevilGirlDiana5 жыл бұрын
Shoot. I hate it when I don't get a notification for these comments and don't notice them until a week later... You're backpacking trip sounds amazing! And thanks for the tips. Maybe someday I will travel there to do it and now I know to plan for April! Thank you!

You know it's funny that little tent is just as good as a $300 tent. Food for thought people boat canvas for my cruiser you should do it once a year if you're going out camping a lot go out and buy canvas sealer for rainproof put it on your tent now it's even more waterproof and also conditions at the same time. Just purchasing ( Star bright) waterproof UV protection also good for outside lawn furniture anything made of material even your jeans he he . 👖

How do you get rid of the animals around you whenever you wanted to try to go camping
@DaredevilGirlDiana5 жыл бұрын
No need to get ride of them. I just live in harmony with them. I also have a 130 purebred German rottweiler dog that pees all around the perimeter of the camp as soon as I arrive. That helps keep big predators away.
