As the Bears fan in the audience I did appreciate the 85 reference in the intro. We once again have hope this season until we see this team squander yet another QB prospect.

I'm a Packers fan but when I was growing up, every time I visited my grandparents in Illinois, if the weather was bad we usually watched one of three VHS', The Flying Leathernecks, Sands of Iowa Jima, or the NFL Film season movie for the 1985 Chicago Bears.

@@thehistoricalgamer I’m pushing 40 so I’m absolutely the bridge between older Bears fans who still cherish the 85 bears but are despondent about the younger generation of fans who obviously don’t care about who Dan Hampton or Walter Payton were

I cant believe you asked Tortuga his opinion on the rng elements. Youre a mad man. Having watched Tortuga's videos on the game, and now having after listened to this, I have to admit I struggle with the appeal a bit. The major points you guys covered were "The Story isnt great" "The romance stuff doesnt fit" "The UI is really basic" and "The progression system is fun but repetitive". The combat seems to be a huge part of the game, but THG is really the only one who touched on it and quite briefly. From what I saw on Tortuga's videos the combat seems to be a lot of using all your stamina, and then spending turns waiting for more and hoping the enemy misses you. I dunno. A lot of us play games that most people would consider pretty boring and barebones.. but I just cant see why I would play this over something like Mount and Blade. Its certainly not for the story it appears haha

There are thousands of people, just like me, who love and enjoy the game. Perhaps that’s because I come from Battle Brothers, ORIGINAL mount and blade, and was raised on flash games. It’s an interesting take and a very unique game, I think that’s why I like it, it does so many new things and mixes multiple genres/mechanics into something that works.

I think the general concept in the campaign games of the enemy reinforcing makes some sense. But often said reinforcements don't have effects in the theaters the troops were stripped from, or the quality of said troops is much too high. Especially for something like the US Civil War where there are not large reserves of quality troops sitting around to be tapped. (England having some in an American Revolutionary War scenario is more plausible, but that is also something that should be making the war all that more expensive for the English government and have effects there.)

UG CW I found the point of snowballing 6:26 no fun. Everything changes when you won a complete victory in a grand battle in UG CW . So actually it would be nice for me to see how it is done differently. Not yet finished whatching. Just wanted to share this.

You are right about UA:Dreadnought, I have just reinstalled the game after putting it aside sincedec. 2023 and guess what? The game is as bad as it was. The QoL and U.I. are still horrible. You cannot create squadrons of ships or fleets in the fleets menu (imagine!), you get a horde of pop-ups every turn instead of a turn summary, and so on. Quite sad... For Heads Will Roll Reforged, I have just found ending number one and I got a surprise achievement, I apparently finished the game without getting any damage... uhm... I truly believe that my character took some damage two or three times, but if the game says it... I used an agility-based character+estoc+bleeding trinkets. I am certain I could have done better in combat with damaging trinkets instead since the estoc's special attack is tripling the damage that bypasses armour.

I personally feel like the campaign in American Revolution ruins it because it ruins my immersion and is uninteresting and repetitive.
