We just went through a night of intense rain and storm. As dawn began to creep through the overcast sky, I started the day by preparing a hearty breakfast for my family. My older son volunteered to stay home and look after his little brother, while I went out to the fields to take care of the loving vegetable beds I had planted. However, as soon as I arrived, the scene before my eyes shocked me: the fierce flood had swept away all the fresh green vegetable beds, leaving behind only a desolate, barren piece of land. All I could do was go back and harvest crocodile fruits from a villager to bring to the market to sell. When I returned home, with the help of my eldest son, I started cooking dishes from crocodile fruit. The family meal that day carried deep sadness and regret, but was also a moment for the whole family to share, comfort and encourage together. No matter how difficult it is, we still firmly believe that we will stand up together and continue our efforts from the beginning.
