Don't you think P4 will release memory first than P1 at time=7 .?

P4 has just arrived for execution at time = 4 and P1 is executing from time = 0; P1 has covered its 4 mins and left with 5 mins at time = 4, and P4 has 7 mins to execute at time = 4 so, at time = 9 P1 execution completed and giving free space but P4 has 2 mins more execution time; that's why at time = 9, P5 will take space. Hope you understand. :)

@@HanishGuptaHoney but how can you say that P1 was getting executed for those 4s as well? What if the system can only execute one process at a time...in that case, wont P4 completing at t=7 make sense?

me too I didn't get it, P1 should start executing at t = 4, not 0.
