There’s something I love about 80/90s lifts, they are interesting in that they bare a mix of modern and ancient design and showing how the industry shifted from analogue to digital technology prepping it self for the 21st century where old analogue relays will be outmoded and everything would be controlled by an artificial brain inside a microchip. Great video btw. The motors in these lifts are soooo good, might I add.

Yeah I'd agree the 80s and 90s was when the technology really started evolving with the microprocessor controllers beginning to make their mark, while that was going on the modern designs were already starting to take shape, some of which still look very nice and modern today and would even work as a new fixture perhaps. Glad you enjoyed the video and yeah those motors are very nice, especially that loud one!

Not my favourite car park lifts in Glasgow I hated them cos of el-cheapo nature of them. Always preferred Concert Square (originally called Buchanan Street Car Park) due to those epic Marryat-Scott lifts with the motor sound!
@ZZ9ProductionsOFFICIAL4 жыл бұрын
yea i agree there, motor wise I'd pick concert square any day, and probably overall i'd pick it as well, having said that these single speed ones are still a bunch of fun to ride even if they might not be quite as well built as concert square. I do wish these all had loud motors tho lol

@@ZZ9ProductionsOFFICIAL I have experienced the opposite pheonomenon in the high speed lifts in skyscrapers in New York that I've visited which have insane acceleration and deceleration. You get to the 59th floor and think you left your stomach on the ground floor :))
