I live on the Chesapeake Bay, been in the woods since before I can remember. My Pop was big on teaching us kids survival love my maple for this. I think knowing trees is pretty darn helpful also in this tye of situation. Great video brother, stumbled across your channel by chance but definitely worth a subscribe. This way of life is dying and while I live pretty comfortable I make it a point to take the kids out and teach them this stuff. Doing these videos is a pain so thanks brother, see you out there.

So nice in desert or Southwest. Here in Maryland it is pretty tough making friction fire from wood. I have done it in my kitchen. My wife didn't appreciate it much. She asked me why I was doing it inside. I asked her if she ever tried making friction fire in the humid Summer in Maryland. She said no of coarse cause she would use a lighter. Lol
