Hi Norman just seeing the new videos you posted they are great just a suggestion for a case a junk microwave oven would be really nice base with very little modifications. I'm trying to build a gi6b tube amplifier using a antenna tuner for rf deck and a microwave oven for the case. It's a slow go figuring out layout and learning what parts n basically learning as I go. That's why I'm going to build this amplifier in your video first maybe after it I'll know enough to finish the gi6b project. Thank you so much for your patience and time to teach. Kenny

13:00 I use a high temperature silicone rubber tubing from an auto parts shop, as a chimney. It's designed for over 200C temperatures, like air and water flow around an engine. I use it on my GS35b 10m homebrew amplifier and that runs up to 1.5kW in to a dummy load easily. It doesn't burn or smell and is electrically non conductive.

2:45 Would a diode do the same job as the capacitor, to stop back EMF, once the relay opens?
@radiomedic1113 жыл бұрын
NO it is not back EMF...it is more like Plasma, kind of like the same thing that happens in a plasma torch as it takes a spark to get it started.
@MM0IMC3 жыл бұрын
@@radiomedic111 what I was meant was the diode is there to quench the spike that is induced, once the relay opens up and the magnetic field collapses within the coil of the relay.
