Single Turbo M3 G80 On The Dyno

We took the KLM BMW M3 G80 to ‪@NationalSpeedInc‬ to get dyno numbers for our single turbo kit on stock motor. The car is running a PTE 6870 paired with a Pure Stage 2 Transmission. We were hopeful heading into our first private track day with a low 9 run, but things didn't go as planned. The car ran consistent 9.5's however the car has more in it. The main issue is during launch the car decides to takeover and autoshift 500-600 rpms early each gear and pulling timing at anything over 120 IAT's. We will be back to the track after issues have been sorted to make the pass we know the car can make!

We have put roughly 5k-6k miles on the the car since the Single Turbo Kit. It's been holding up great so far.

@@Not_jdm_af unsure where you got that information, but the engine never blew up. We put about 7k-8k miles on the engine at 925whp and pulled the motor to do our Stage 2 Engine Build. The engine is going back into the car and also receiving our SAVAGE Series turbo kit to push for more HP.

I've been following progress on the S58's reputation since it was declared the "German 2JZ". With a single-turbo, it definitely is starting to sound like one. Given how many cars in the BMW lineup receive the S58 (M2/M3/M4/X3M/X4M), those who don't like the styling can at least appreciate the fact that in 15-20 years time, we could do engine swaps with cars that people prefer the design of. I'm personally dreaming of an S58-swapped S15 Silvia.

Thanks for build update....i plan to do manual, so not much interest in launching/quarter times. definitely interested in stock engine maximum though....will continue to do research on the torque limit for manual transmissions.

Yeah man I was having the same issues with the IATs down here in Florida it’s too hot for fast passes right now. Have you guys reach out to XHP about the early shifting? I know Mpowerhouse was having the same issue

We have not, that's our next steps. The car mainly does it when we activate launch control only.

The seatbelt shit would drive me nuts trying to pay attention to what the actual car is doing. I’m no genius, but just connect the belts and the notification won’t popup. 🤷🏻‍♂️
