Fantastic Kenny! I'm 71 years old and the Magnatone has always been my Dream amp since I heard Buddy Holly had one. The greatest vibrato in the industry.

Very cool. A friend was given a little tube powered 1 12 two knob Magnatone amp and Audition Jag-alike for Christmas in the mid '60s. I was like 8 then. As much as i love what the company has been doing lately, i wish i had the little Estey era tube Mag i bought in the mid '70s. 1 12, tone, vol vibrato and reverb, $75, like new with a cover. Not powerful to hang with a drummer but a killer home amp. I used to hit that with a Strat, crybaby and red script Big Muff (trower, ufo, yesterday and today tunes) but play it clean and turned up, it sounded huge. Sold it and everything in '80 (IDIOT!!) and never seen another like it. Great demo here.

Idk of Kenny has noticed this, but that strat has a jazzmaster shaped head stock. The jazzmaster head stock shape sat somewhere between the small pre cbs shape and the larger cbs era shape

Sorry but the quality just wasn't there for me. I tried... used lightly for a few months. Had issues, serviced several times.... too many hassles, dumped it on Ebay. Best thing I ever did. Was a very frustrating experience. Back to my custom 18watt and original Marshall 5. The little 5 is a sweetheart. Made in England Not sure you can get them any more.....

I wanted more out of this demo. How about the range of the tone controls? How does it take different pedals like a standard tube screamer. What's the clean headroom like with both single coil and humbucker (LP) guitars?

People this is what guitars do ! If you play light it sounds les loud and cleaner. What’s the hype about this ?? Or r the other guitarded thing. This amp is great because when you lower your guitar volume with the volume knob it sounds les loud and cleaner. Wtf ?! If that is the selling point about an amp or a guitar I won’t buy it.

You can't afford it anyway, 'cause you spend all your money on anger management classes that don't work.

Did the return of Humpty Dumpty worked for you ? Is that why you don’t spend your money on anger management classes ?

ERIC EDMUND tweed bassman’s sound too farty. Marshall and many boutique amps have perfected that sound

ERIC EDMUND well I’m happy they work out for you. Tone is subjective so to many vox/Marshall/etc is their “ideal” and pinnacle sound.

I tried to love my 5F6A Bassman amps. Four different tweed Bassman variants as a matter of fact. I like them well enough but they get mushy after they get hot for a while, and I finally moved on to a JTM-45, and I was somewhat happier with that. I finally found a Vox AC30HW2, with greenbacks was far better for me. Still have a couple of the tweed Bassmans, and they certainly sound good for one or two things, but my current rig is an AC30HW2, and a Magnatone Super 59 MkII, run in stereo (with the help of my Keeley 30MS, a TC Electronic Flashback X4, and a couple other pedals), using two Fryette PS 2s to keep the volume just under the threshold of pain. I have to say, that I can get a lot more out of the Super 59 than I ever did the Bassman amps I have used. The Super is more like a really, really good Super Lead when you get it cooking, but it’s got an excellent, richness to the clean sounds that I really like. Plus, the varistor that they used to create the pitch shifting vibrato makes it extremely quiet. This amp is a little different animal than the Super 59, but I imagine that it was designed to perform, just as the Super. Everyone is different, and I haven’t played through a Magnatone that didn’t impress me in some fashion, but I would say the same about the tweed Bassman, JTM-45, any Dr Z, blackface Super Reverb, the early generations of Mesa Boogies, AC10s, AC15s, and of course, AC30s. I’m glad you like the tones you can coax from your tweed Bassman. I just couldn’t find enough variety in the amps that I used before I discovered my AC30 and Super 59 rig. We all like different things, and generally speaking, we all sound like ourselves no matter what we’re playing through. The important thing is to find an amp, or amps, that inspire you to push the limits of your playing and helps you to find new territory I your music.

Actually does alot a tweed bassman cant do.The proprietary tone warble for starters also is your caps lock broken or is it louder in all caps.
