im running a 1070 with an i5-7600k at 1440p. when i play bf1 my framerates drop to around 60-50 which i know is not right and i get stuttering. i also have 2x 4GBs of ram. should i buy another set of 2x4s? or go 2x16 does it really matter?

if you have the ram slots available, try to get similar latency and speed. hope I helped

Hi. I have 2 x 4 GB Dual Channel 2400 Mhz Hyper Fury RAM. If I want to upgrade (add 2 more sticks of 4 GB) do I still get Dual Channel Mode even though I have a total of 4 sticks of RAM (4 x 4 GB)? :) Also, is it possible to have like (2 x 8 GB) + (2 x 4 GB) = 24 GB running in Dual Channel Mode as well? :D Please help, me. Thanks!

If your motherboard allows it, that 4x4 configuration might get you Quad channel. make sure memory modules are matching in terms of brand, model, speed, latency

Appears to me that 12gb might be a decent sweet spot. With 8gb you clearly fall short in this particular game, and 16gb might be overkill, if the game is using 8.5gb tops. Plus, by now it's the only game, together with Batman: Arkham Knight, that tangibly benefits from having more than 8gb. RAM prices are getting crazy, and I honestly wouldn't spend 80 bucks to upgrade from 8 to 16gb just for a couple games. 80 bucks is almost the difference between a 1060 3GB and a 1070, and now THAT would be an upgrade. ;)

Hey guys, I have a Lenovo Y520 with 8 GB DDR4, i5-7300hq 2.50 GHz and a Gtx 1050Ti 4GB. When I play Battlefield 1 Singleplayer at Medium settings, the performance was very smooth, but as soon as I played Multiplayer I had about 40-50 fps. So the question is, would it be useful to stock my RAM up to 16 Gb? I saw a video in which a guy played Bf1 Multiplayer with the exact same specs, the only difference was that he had in his Lenovo Y520, 12GB dual chanell RAM and he had 60-70 fps. Is it worth it to upgrade my RAM? I saw that the guy had the same PC like mine just with 4 Gigs more and had more than 60 fps. Please let me know... thx :)

very detailed description there. Sounds like insufficient ram. Check out the Difference Ram can make in games here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jXKlpIyqo5mIZ7c

the reason your gains are only around 5 is becuase you are gpu bound on my 970 going from 1 8gig stick to 2 got me an avg of 15 to 20 frames

please explain further. If both test are free frame rates it will max the GPU and Vram.

He want to say, that weaker systems has a larger profite of dual channel. But that has nothing to do with the GPU. Your CPU is good and so the difference is only 5-10 FPS. Casey Armstrong has a weaker CPU, i guess.

In this map amiens and monte grappa, when the memory usage is greater than 7000MB sttuterings happens here. I have 2x4gb (dual channel) and i think the sttuterings it s because just 8 GB. When i test with more 16GB(borrowed) (2x4gb(mine) + 2x8GB) in dual channel), i did not noticed sttutterings of high memory usage. But i will buy just more 2x2GB.

I sh*t on dual channel vs single channel. The game just need more than 8GB to be play smoothly.

Yea the fcking sttutering is annoying with 8GB. Worth to get 16 GB.

You need some case fans that temperature is very dangerous and can couse problems.

It's a laptop. 80C-90C temps on GPU and CPU are OK here, as long as VRMs and other components have airflow.

+M K139 I agree. Actually from my test bf1 and system usage was using over 8gb 😧
