I honestly think that Ethan Erwin may just be on a whole different level to the current crop of competitors, his only loss coming due to a deep cut question with a number of required answers, Erwin is a giant of the game already.
@ajl97726 жыл бұрын
I don't think his 5 pointer was that deep of a cut personally. Peter Pan has been retold numerous times in films and plays. It was asking for the names of 3 important characters and Wendy is a gimme. Odds are if you know the name of one of the brothers you will know the name of the other. It was a reasonable question for a 5 pointer. It was unlucky for him to get his biggest perceived weakness as his 5 pointer. Ethan is great and is coming across to me as the most knowledgeable competitor. However, I don't think he's the most well rounded. It's clear he has one huge hole in his game and that's animated (or at least Disney animated). If he gets stuck with that on the wheel odds are he loses the match.
@skater02246 жыл бұрын
AJL yeah, also looks like animated seems to be Lon Harris’s weakness as well. Exploit those !
@Kratosx236 жыл бұрын
@@skater0224 Animated is a weakness for Lon, but animated seems to be Ethans ONLY weakness. Lon is weak in anything that's considered "low brow". He's a wizard at things like dramas and famous actors and actresses, but if you give him something like action or sci fi, etc, he's gonna get smacked. Ethan won't.
@davidmitchell-baker17016 жыл бұрын
@@ajl9772 Yeah it may be a bit of a weakness, but outside of that he just rolls answers off the tongue without a second thought, it's incredible!

Ethan is an absolute beast and quite possibly the most knowledgeable competitor BUT I don't think he's the best at *the game*. Would be really interesting seeing him go up against Bateman. The master of movie trivia vs. the guy who's mastered (more or less) the Schmoedown and how to play it

I really really liked the MoviesAnywhere spot. It actually encouraged me to use my MA account more than I do now. I would love to see other companies partner with the Schmoedown; it's got a loyal fanbase that loves to see MTS supported. Thank you, MoviesAnywhere! On to the match, this was just amazing! My heart goes out to Chance for getting that 5-point question... This video also showed just how much he's grown as a competitor all-around. Congratulations to Erwin... I am so curious how far his knowledge will take him. Finally, Jay Washington has to get a shout out here... What a character. 😆

What a fantastic second round. We are blessed to be watching such quality competitors at their prime. Both of these people are really remarkable people who have kept their shenanigans of wrestling and stuff to the minimum, to bring the only thing they care about in the trivia part of it all. watch and learn bateman troll.
@olivergehrmann65356 жыл бұрын
I care about the wrestling stuff, it's a vital part of the Schmoedown for me. So I understand where you're coming from, but please know that there are people who appreciate the "spectacle" that other competitors are putting into the Schmoedown. I think Bateman is the best player at the moment (if you're taking everything into account, which includes his trash talk, his character, etc.) and I had him winning this tournament in my bracket. :)
@prashanth14896 жыл бұрын
@@olivergehrmann6535 i like wrestling. Ethan probably doesn't play the wrestling bit, but Chance's early on heel was really good. Again, i can't say how one kind of wrestler persona is how every one should take. Some heels are interesting. some are boring. Kalinowski needed sometime, while Rocha just couldn't. But all these people when it comes to the competing part of answering questions, treated the situation of the tournament/competition, and opponent with actual respect. Ben was alright with how team action was obsessed with Rocha. even though it was over the top, and loud, and a bit boring. but he just became a complete shit-house expert against every one since then. Some of the times when he interferes with people, and just proudly cheating (sometimes he cheats by just looking at the other person). I have no problem in how he trolls by waiting for last second to answer the question. but the other shit is needlessly cringey and doesn't at all make me want to get on with watching a game of his any time soon. Unless every one shits all over him or something. he did fuck up in some big games. Good for you if you think him being best at this game matters when he just makes people hate the game itself. again, it could be that I wouldn't like all the wrestlers at any time of me following wrestling for over 2 decades. There are some, i could never like. but my problem is not with wrestling. i'd like to see Ben just care about the game when a match begins, and I'll stop caring about what kind of personaa he is using.
