RE xmas dinner some of the things you didn't mention that I associate with an Xmas dinner - desserts (pudding, custard or cream) snacks for before/after dinner (mincepies, crisps etc) trimmings not mentioned(sprouts, yorkshires, cranberry sauce) crackers, drinks (soft drinks and wine for xmas toasting)

You’re such a good mom❤❤❤ 2025 will be a huge year for me. I’ll qualify for my pensions, an annuity, and for Medicare. I hope the program doesn’t change as much as it’s projected to because of our unpredictable incoming administration. Very scary to be this close to seeing all my plans finally come to pass (I’ve been working on my retirement FOREVER!) Now I’m old and tired and just want things to work out, ya know? I don’t have a lot of fight left. I had a horrible divorce that derailed my initial plans, so I truly have fear about change now that I’m so close to putting my recovery plan in motion. Wish me luck! 😊

Thanks for a great video and I hope you and your family have a lovely Christmas. Like you I have sinking funds and mine are similar except I have mine in a savings account and use an excel spreadsheet to track each pot. As well as the pots you have, I have one for our cat and one for the optician as we both wear glasses. It’s a good system and helps us, like you, to manage the ups and downs of financial life.

Apologies if I am repeating myself but am still in shock. I have one sinking fund for everything (I was keeping the bank's Save The Change for Christmas and any premium bond winnings tend to cover deficits in my budget or fund clothes or books - I have no children). My dentist has gone private and before this I think I averaged about £70 a year on NHS fees mainly due to ancient fillings and crowns needing replaced, now it's £20 a month to be on the books and have routine exams and hygiene twice a year (let's hope, it was hard to get an appointment once a year before). But on my income I can only increase my sinking fund by £20 a month. seems I will be using savings for dental treatment! My one sinking fund also covers optical fees and the bills I don't pay every month. I think I planned for it to fund a new laptop every two years, that won't happen. Interesting how we all do our sinking funds in different ways. Thank you for your videos and gentle yet strong way of viewing budgeting.
