This man was a musical genius. I have never seen a single musician synthesize so many different music forms and demonstrate such originality!

We are westerners and liking the way this sounds 50 years later... That says something about the level of artistic and singing talent that Sisamouth had.
How can people dislike this? For some unknown reason I watch it quite often - maybe as reminder that we should never take the status quo for granted - for everyone featured in this movie their lives were about to change inexplicably forever...RIP those still with us and all the victims of those horrible times

Priceless memory. Will always be embedit within my heart. Thank you for preserving a priceless moment in cambodian culture. The king of all voices, Mr. Sin Sisamouth. Thumbs up if you agree. Proud to be Khmer.

Hi, from Tasmania, Australia, I'm not Khmer but Cambodia is my second home, Love the country. Love the people.
He is the all time king of Khmer singer. One morning, I saw Sinn Sisamouth standing on a hotel balcony in Battambang. He was just viewing the surround areas as well as River SangKe). This was a few months before the Khmer Rouge took over Cambodia in 1975. I forgot the name of the hotel, but it was just around the corner from the Sangke Cinema; in the street leading from the steel bridge (called Spean Daik) to the Battambang Rail Station. Thanks for posting this video.

The quality is amazing!!!! I could see Sinn Sisamouth very clear.
What a priceless gem.... Hope we have more footage of him and other golden voice singers from this era popping in here. I believe the French have an archive of Khmer movies of this era before the genocide happened...
Happy 88th Birthday to our Emperor of Golden Voice. Thank you for everything you have contributed for our Khmer culture. You may be gone physically but your beautiful songs and voice will live on forever.
Sieng Dy, the lady standing next to Master Sinn Sisamouth died on August 18, 2019 at exactly 12:40 PM in Lakewood, California around the age of 74. One of the few connection to the golden age of Khmer music rest peacefully. The only recent footage that I know of is an interview she gave for the 2015 documentary, "Don't Think I've Forgotten".

Nobody can beat the oldies voices. They have some kind of power to give you goose bumps. It gets right to your heart and soul. I can listen to it over and over and never get tires of it.
Gosh.... wish our country was still like this. So beautiful...

If there was no Khmer Rouge, most of us wouldn’t be living outside Cambodia. We would still live in Cambodia today and education, political system, environment, and culture will still be here. But since it happened, we end up living abroad.
Wow its great and very lucky to see this video clip, especially I could see Sinn Sisamouth is singing in real life and this is always what I intended to see the way that he sings. Many thanks for uploading this video.
Holy.. for the first time in my life I'm seeing Sin Sisamouth actually moving and singing instead of a still photo. I wish I had this movie.

Wow! Thank you for uploading a vid. I've only seen pictures of him. My dad use to kick it with him back in Phnom Penh back in the days along with many stars. He told me that him, samouth, and the older folks liked to smoke weed together lol. Bamboo bong with coconut water. RIP Lok Kru Samouth.
