At 22:13, instead of pulling the lever, I accidentally destroyed the barrels near Rosabeth by rolling into them. This triggered an exposition sequence that opened the cells containing enemies. Fortunately, the door to the outside remained open, allowing me to fight those enemies 'easily' outside the building. After I pulled the lever only one basilisc came from the door. Easy prey. At 18:33 you rolled into them as well, but strangely there was no explosion for you.

When extincting the sentry, I use either soul arrow or dark orb from Straid then homeward before moving on. The Xplodeboys get arrows
