thanks a ton. you really don't understand the struggle I went through today trying to understand this concept. I must have watched 10 videos and none helped. This was super simple and easy to understand!

this makes so much more sense -- I would be confused by this concept normally but trying to learn it through a mirror-image Zoom screen during COVID-era education only makes it even harder. thank you!!!

@freeduckie You are correct that the force on an electron is opposite the force on a proton. But for the last example, lining up the right hand with fingers to the left and thumb out gives a force down for a proton. Since it is an electron, the force on the electron is up.

Hello! I believe you're talking about the 2nd right hand rule to determine the direction of an induced magnetic field caused by a current-carrying wire. We don't have one posted to KZbin on that topic, but we do have several in a collection that we sell. You can check them out on our web site (the link is in the video description) if you want to. The specific topic would be 18-D and it includes 4 tutorials for $1.98. Good luck!

So does this apposing effect against which way the conductor would like to go and initial work in order to do so create the high to low potential?

I was taught the right hand rule a different way. It worked fine for first semester of physics, but in E&M the right hand rule that I know confused me. Anyways, I'm so glad I found this!!!
@gilllie66612 жыл бұрын
g'day, if i may my question is, if i physically (generating) move a conductor from below flux lines going left to right ie N -> south, to above the flux the current being a negative charge, the current will go into the computer screen, alright fine but the induced current i am creating has its own magnetic field, so at this point following the conductors flux lines tells me that due to the catapult effect the easier direction the conductor wishes to move is down rather than up.

@idobenlulu36479 жыл бұрын
that last thing u showed about where the magnetic force is with the negative charge moving , is wrong. The force direction is downwards.
@BRNEWITT9 жыл бұрын
Ido Ben Lulu The force would be down if the situation was done with a positive charge. A negative charge always experiences a force opposite a positive charge, though, so the actual force acting on the charge is up.
