Siouxsie was so ahead of her time. Look at her doing acrobatics, her little flash of white crimped hair. Have always loved this woman from the first time hearing the Juju album. I love Rosin Murphy too. Very interesting how she is currently sporting SS's makeup (ok - colours a bit muted).

Looked so divine in this era and the white streaks amplify that image so well. People rave about Madonna at that time, but there's no way that she could've tolerated what Siouxsie put up with on stage, nor have the gumption to stand up to it.

Connecting with other SATB fans on email back then was so exciting! You lose touch with your old email pals, and you wonder what they are doing now, you know?

A true performance band, they almost never even bothered to tell a story through their music videos. To to, say, The Eurythmics, who literally defined what a music video could be. One the Banshee’s most stunning videos was, _The Last Beat of My Heart_ where Siouxsue just sort of lets the words themselves tell the love story. A truly breathtaking video.

Now that I come to think of it, I vaguely recall seeing this video for the first time either at Berlin, Chicago's first new wave video bar on W Belmont or it was at Cabaret Metro (now Metro) on N Clark St in Wrigleyville. This vid jarred my memory. I'm talking about when this first came out in the early 80s sometime. Many years later, me and a then gf of mine in the late 90s saw Siouxsie perform at the VIc Theatre in Lakeview neighborhood (Chicago). Siouxie was really late. My gf and I started joking that she was probably in the back inhaling a mountain full of white dust. Later eventually she and the band came on to perform but it wasn't all that great. Well at least I got to see them live even though it wasn't in their heyday of the 80s. Sidebar: that same gf went on to become the mother of my 1st child. Yay!
