i don't hear a lot of people mentioning how innovative those guitar riffs are, that shit is hard! they really are a group of talented musicians.

Guitarist is the late John Mcgeoch who died in 2004. He was with the band 1980-1982 and for many this was arguably there greatest period creatively. He did fantastic work with Magazine and Visage. I really think this band have ever really been given their due.

In my humble opinion. as someone who was 14 years old in a Welsh local authority care home when this stuff was going on and enjoying my own rebellion. Siouxsie Sioux and Poly Styrene were forging a path for the women in the punk movement.

I once heard an interview where siouxsie was asked if she was a feminist. I think it was whos that girl with Janice Long ca 1984. Siouxsie said she believed female empowerment came from doing what you want to do without being controlled or feeling that you are at the vanguard of a movement

Siouxsie is the real star of this band of the end of the 1970's and the beginning of the 1980's. I heard her music often at this time in underground disco's and later also in "mainstream" disco's too. I still love her music.

It's interesting hearing Souxie now, she was so influential, but not in such a direct, obvious way as other artists. She came up out of the punk scene, but never fit into it. Punk was more loud and colorful, Souxie was dark and weird, which actually ended up catching on more long term.

Some requestZ are pretty unusual and that standS for a large great followers community. I appreciate the sonorities of this band and the tone of the singer . The early 80's is the era of this piece of music , i suppose . 🖐👋 Pretty "dark" elaborated and raw at the same time ! I appreciated your associationS Travis and Suzi ! And the Sex Pistols connection and inspiration by this band is interesting !

The term 'Icon/Iconic/ is used so much now its almost meaningless. Siouxsie was and is a true Icon. In terms of music , attitude and style. There was just no one like her. It was her band. No svengali pulling the strings. THey did suffer from some bad management which prevented them from becoming as big as a band like The Cure. In the early 80s the cutting edge of UK music was bands like the banshees, New Order, Echo and the Bunnymen , The associates. I suppose you would include The Cure as well though i never liked them much. LIve aid came in 1985 and the landscape changed. All of a sudden bands like Queen and the ghastly Phil Collins got a new lease of life then came Stock aitken and Waterman. In the states you were probably jamming to the Bachman Turner OVerdrive lol. Seriously though I heard Patti Smith was a big influence on siouxsie as was Nico.
