In Ecuador (similar culture to Peru and Bolivia) purple represents death and the after life, it doesn’t mean royalty at all. We are predominantly AmerIndians so we don’t perceive colors like European people do. And this cartoon is based off the Incas with a load of inaccuracies but I love that they named the villain excrements (feces) in Quechua, that’s what Yzma means in Quechua, I don’t know if it’s on purpose but it’s definitely funny to us Quechua speakers. Iconic name for a villain for sure.

Can we agree that despite Yzma being cruel and selfish, she would be a much better empress than Kuzco, at least in the beginning, I mean she was basically running the whole thing from behind the scenes anyway, Kuzco was merely a pampered puppet figure. If she had the crown she could be free from any type of restraints and with her knowledge of, magic, alchemy and science she could cure the sick, make better crops, create super soldiers, etc making the Inca culture one of the most powerful empires in the entire world, and before you say she would be too selfish to do such a thing, I'm not saying she would do this out of the kindness of her heart, she would probably do this to grant her more land, riches and power aa well as the people's approval, thus securing her as the new empress and preventing revolts, after all, people would be happy so why revolt. Also the colour scheme she picked for the decor is 100% better, those purples, black and turquoises along with the gold are to *DIE* for.
