Face it: we love Amber. Sure, she can be real vain and shallow towards her brother and sister, but was really only envious of Sofia’s charm and beauty. Plus, as the series went on, she developed a much nicer and kinder side to both her brother and especially her sister. I really like how in spite of how contrasting they were, Sofia never actually tried to get Amber to change her entire personality (unlike other shows, in which apparently getting humble equals losing the charisma), because deep down, she does look up to Amber as an actual older sister. Yes, Amber learned to be humble, but the show never implied she was anything else but a queen in the making. She had the patience of an older sister, the care of a good friend and the eye and will to impose order. She simply needed to learn to be a kid too, because a good queen is always in touch with those around her.
