I did this one without barricades, big groups of steves on the ledges as close to the rift as possible, protected by tar traps expanding them to 4 squares by two as the levels progress. I used swinging mace setups to block off the guys coming from the far entrances and just combined random floortraps with tar for the entrances closest to the rift. The only thing I put on the platform the rift is on were some backup steves

Sips, you got me to finally beat this game so thanks! One thing I learned is how awesome the ice amulet is for all large guys and flying that are not ice themed. When you freeze a ogre you deal crazy damage with the blunderbuss on their frozen body. And if you shoot air units they fall out of the sky and shatter!

Sips, The Floor Scorcher's also work as inverse spring traps, that means there more effective when placed facing away from the orc's. Because the orc's that get through will get burnt, and all of the ones following will be flung back. If you use them effectively you can keep them back long enough for it to reset. This means that you only need a floor scorcher and the wind belt for any chokepoint. Plus the ability to manage your mana effectively. All you need is one choke point and Steves to win.

Sips - if you put the barricades right up against the slightly raised path you narrow their access and lump them together better, as well as making it more likely that traps will fit perfectly in between the wall and the barricade. Tighter choke = more lumping = bigger groups hurled into lava/acid with the wind belt. Also if you extend it to more of a spiral they have further to go before being able to get to the rift!

Daniel Hall the springs are also needed for the big guys as the scorcher doesn't fling them at all and the spring trap can be used as a fly back for the little ones meaning that the scorcher can get recharged

sips, i got a trap setup for you, do your checker with spikes and tar then put spring traps at the end to fling 'em back to the start of the checkers so they go on forever only getting past the spring reload time

Where you had 2 rows of spring traps... try to use barricades closer to the edge. That way you have space for more archers, and easier to push the big orcs with only one line of spring traps.

What I reckon would be really helpful for the next run through of this level would be on the halls where you have the arrow walls out up those barriers so that they have to walk right next to the lava, then when they get hit by the arrow walls they are more likely to go for a hot swim!

Sips, you might wanna place the arrow walls on far ends of hallways, the arrows travel pretty far and everything in that path will get damaged (and possibly burned). Basically wider damage area, less traps, more money for Steves and your little Simons and not to forget the sons of Winstons...

You can lift people up and chuck them into the juice, although it sucks a crapload of mana. So I use the mana rage trinket with it. (I've nearly mastered sips vocabulary :D)

Kill boxes around the main doors with grinders, barricades and ceiling traps. Still pretty tense but level 7 onwards are so much easier.

I'll repeat some of the advice I gave last time. Less barricades and spring traps, more traps and guardians. You made the right choice in just having steves. You made good use of the lighting ring good job. Focus more on the chokes and miring the halls. You've seem to come up with a good initial idea for a choke with the barricades but you shouldn't waste your money after that with more barricades. Max out your steves, your miring pits and arrow walls and you should be good.

When you notice voodoo tigers, don't ignore them. They can get over the barricades easily, that's why all the Steves died in round 9

I still think his original layout from the first attempt was the most effective. It got him almost perfectly to the 10th level, where then a little bit of trap-work would have saved him.

Sips, for you choke point place an extra barricade just behind the last one. that's what you did last time and it made the choke better. it did work. also use the massive spike roller things when the ogres and trolls are coming on the higher rounds. I also think that you should tactically place spore mushrooms on the voodoo tiger things and the frost/fire ogres. Steve's for the flyers and a mire in the corridors for extra support and lower the health of enemy's some more.

Well, He tends to set up good defenses around the barricades, also putting steves behind the barricades, or any other kind of guardian or decoy the orcs will want to attack, theyll destroy the barrier to get to them, not to mention you need a reasonable sapper defense. I find the dart spitter useful against them, also tar and a lot of spike traps usually will kill them as well. Hope this helps. (Theyll also want to hit you if your behind the barricades.

If you think this level is bad, just wait until you get to the last one lmao. Twisted OMGWTFISGOINGON or something like that. I practiced The Crunch a lot before I managed 5 skulls, lots of different approaches. Ultimately, what worked REALLY well was lots of checkerboarding with Brimstone traps in front of the stairs that lead down to the landing, then tons of archers in the corners that don't have stairs. Mirror set up on each side let me ace it.

TIP: for the level called mirrior or somthing.. is to place archers at the bottom to deal with the runners.. usually 6 archers will be enough for the entire fight :)
