Brian May is a remarkable individual. Thing is, Brian May doesn't need to do any of this work. He is a multimillionaire international rock star who could buy an island and live the high life. Yet he is the most down to earth person you could ever meet. He chooses to work for good causes, support animal rights, support ordinary people. Good on him. He is an absolute legend and makes us proud to be British.

What a great guy.... I hope this serious issue gets resolved for both farmers and badgers. It certainly sounds like this may be a possible answer. It can't be possible for farmers to keep animals in sterile conditions, but improved tests would go along way to detect transmission in herds. It's good to hear that there is co-operation between farmers and badger advocates, it's awful for the farmers and wildlife.

The most puzzling thing to me when watching the documentary was that the investigation, activities and tests that Brian May instigated to try and find the root cause of the TB had not been done or organised previously by the government.

The farm he collaborated with got TB after he left but the programme deliberately left it out. This programme begins with the hypothesis that 'badgers do not spread tb to cattle' - he came up with a methodology whereby the farm test their cattle with a new method, and he vaccinated the badgers. He failed to complete half his methodology and didn't interact with any badgers during the entire programme except for showing cute badgers rolling around. The programme may have a positive of creating new methods of testing cattle for tb - brilliant. He may have proven tb spreads from cow to cow (this is not new information) but he did not proove that 'badgers don't spread tb to cows' - this was not even tested in the programme. Also - the programme didn't mention that they only looked into DAIRY cows, not beef cows - where there isn't the same slurry issue. Badgers are NOT culled by farmers. It is already illegal for farmers to shoot a badger. It has a possible custodial sentence. This programme was extremely biased and nothing but complete propaganda.

Eventually, hopefully sooner than later, we will allow even our domestic animals to roam more because the enclose meant seems to be the same for animals as people that spreads faster closer the house are so like American Buffalo. I don’t think they ever had a situation of disease because they were free to roamand to prevent animal sickness, they have to be able to migrate to the most healthy areas to get the best quality of nutrition, etc., and exercise so hopefully will come to a time where we can meet them there. Brian is totally wrong. The NFU has done countless tests of badgers across the country and have found them to be spreading T.B. Wiping out huge numbers of cattle and farms. I would suggest a guitarist isn’t a farming expert. The NFU are, they say he’s wrong. I agree with them.

Badgers can and do spread bovine TB, that's scientifically proven fact ( Google it). The question is what percentage of cases are given to cattle by badgers.

As I said it's a question of how much of the TB, the percentage of cases, that are transmitted in this way. Brian May is a Londoner who moved to the country once he had £150 million in the bank, but he's still a townie. You can't become a country person by buying a house in a rural location.

It's all great when you are not losing your herd of cattle but if you say to these guys ok but if you lose your herd you will reimburse the the farmer out of your own pockets the answer would be different easy to say when it's not affecting your pocket but when your paying the farmer out of your own pocket that's the game changer.
