I saw this video a week before X-mas 2020 and it took me deep in my heart. Hey Pops, you have a fantastic family.... Congrats to the records, you gave me a great Christmas present this year. A big hand from Sweden....

Remember talking to Sir Eddie when buying a set of finned rocker covers for my Commando. He was telling me how he was hoping it would rev to 10,000 and his parts were to help pay for the venture. I can still hear the enthusiasm in his voice. Heart warming story and best of all, they broke both records! Those rocker covers are still on my Commando, ridden year round and been all over Europe but still shiny. Sir Eddie will be smiling and ultra proud of this A Team.

Boy you sure look like your dad. I worked in the same shop in the 70s. He helped me build and restore my first Atlas. He used to come around the shop at 4:30 (beer :30) and take up the collection for after work libations. Miss you Ed.

Congratulations to all of you...Great team effort. I'm only sorry I didn't get to say hello while there at the AMA Speed Trials, too busy with our own efforts running 2 bikes. But I did say hello to most of you in July at the INOA Quincy rally. Hopefully, there will be more to come and thanks for making this great video for all to share.

Not quite sure what the "International course" is. When I was there it was a short course (3 miles) I think and a long course (5 miles) I think. Of course I never heard anyone refer to a mountain course either but I was there in 2000 and realise that a better area may have needed to be searched out and set up do to deteriorating surface conditions. No matter. You ran and set records. That's what matters in your case. Not much any of us can do about the salt.

For all the people who use the term "head in a shed" as a derogatory term, this what people in sheds come up with, home built speed machines that break world records, some times,

Would you elaborate on the classes the bike ran in? Simple specifications? I get it's a push-rod, 500cc twin, running on gasoline. Anything else?
@paulbilton-smith11424 жыл бұрын
The M stands for Modified being that the bike needs to be in a stock frame but can have a 10% max wheel base over stock. The bike can have any modifications to the motor, stroke, head, firing order etc. PG stands for pushrod gas. You can read rules at Bonneville Speed Trails website as well as the SCTA website for all classes and rules. PBS
