Sir Kenny Dalglish, the greatest of them all. The King of Anfield. Man, you should have seen him play in his prime, he was truly fantastic. Alongside Rushie, the most deadly striker you've ever seen, a true predator, those two were incredible. Our Kenny, is the greatest of them all.
@DavidSmith-fs5qj3 жыл бұрын
Couldnt agree more. I was in the ground in 2006 for the 20th anniversary charity match replay of the 1986 FA cup final. I remmember a ball being played into the Liverpool 18 yard area, and Mark Lawrenson turning very slowly in response. Many in the crowd laughed, but i said to a guy alongside me, there are many fans here today, who have no idea of just how good these former legends were. As you rightly say, Kenny and Rushie were incredible, but Lawrenson and Hansen at the heart of defence, just sheer class.

@robinmcewen32863 жыл бұрын
His accent is astonishingly strong given how long he's lived in England! But he's Scotland's greatest ever player and it was touching how he mentioned Denis Law. Kenny only has one rival for the title in Scotland and it's the Lawman. For people of a certain age, Law will always be the best. Kenny is of that age and the respect he gives Law is a measure of the man. Dalglish should have been the European player of the year at least once. But UK players rarely got that recognition during his time. Keegan got it twice but had to go to Germany. What a career. Scorer of the greatest goal in Scotland's history. Ironically, at Anfield. Nothing will ever beat his header v Wales that night. Not just for the goal's importance, but 40,000 Scots going mental!

Im 26 mins in to this and now Kennys been asked had football changed when he returned in 2011. The answer Id give, and this applies now and forever more in sport. The is the ball, pass and move, score goals, defend your goal, and if you are better at these things, you will win. Peopl go on about the great teams, currently its Man City, as they have won the most trophies, and Ive watched City lts of times, but if you want to see a game of pass and move watch Liverpool V Spurs 1978/79 season, and try to explain any goal scored in this era or any since thats better than Liverpools 7th.

The Question to Kenny about team talk before the game V Liverpool, was silly in a way, why does a Manager have to do this in such an important game. All the great teams Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd ,Man City, Everton, Chelsea, Leeds Utd etc, when these teams are paying well and winning, they are like a Cruise Liner, going along strong, so the ships Captain ( Manager ) doesnt need to be on deck all the time, they just pop up, for a few minutes, said a word or two, and go back to bed. You only see the manager now and again, when word gets to him that the ship is sturing the wrong course, then he appears, and he sorts it out. No need for Oscar speeches, long winded talks, just go out and win.

It is an incredible honour, it is not Liverpool’s style to go down that road, Paisley has a set of gates, Shankly gates and the statue (the only one at Anfield). But to name a stand at Anfield shows the revere in which this man is held. The three most influential names in LFC history Shankly, Paisley and Dalglish
