He avoids being criticized for the sake of mental peace. As a result, he doesn't even tell the truth and give fair opinion or verdict when people require it. He doesn't displease anyone. He wants to impress others and maintain his fame in the society. In fact, he is the person who doesn't hurt anyone. He uses diplomatic language to satisfy both of them.

on the way, Will Wimble and Tom Touchy had a dispute about fishing. SirRoger didn't take anyone's side. He said "much might be said on both sides". he didn't want to hurt anyone. At the Court, Sir Roger looke very busy and serious. He said only a few words. While returning Sir Roger wante to change his own painting kept by his former servant. He wanted to make it look like Carasen. When he asked the narrator about the painting, the narrator also used the same diplomacy and said "Much might be said on both sodes". in this way various things made their travel pleasant.
