You watch Sir Stephen and witness an unpretentious and serene performer who delivers a sublime rendition of this fine work, seemingly without effort. Close your eyes and hearken to his clarity. Simply lovely.

Thank you. One of my favourite pianists, his knighthood so richly deserved.

I heard this last night in Lahti, Finland. Sir Stephen played the piano and Sir Mark Elder was the conductor. I absolutely loved it. So well played and I could feel all the notes in my spine. Thank you both and also thanks to the fabulous Lahti sinfonia orchestra.

I very much savored both the performance and the quality of the piano sound. Love his interpretation and refined articuation!

Got a chance to listen to Sir Stephen Hough live performance few year ago. He was not playing Piano or technique or costume, he was playing real Beautiful Music and unforgettable for live. That's the major difference compared to other professional pianist.

I've had the opportunity to play a cfx, not the most recent iteration, but none the less I loved it! It had one of the best actions I've ever felt, it was so responsive to the smallest touch and the sound was so beautiful. I like a light action and not one where I have to smash the keys down to get the piano to sound.

Power and subtlety (especially the two final notes!) - Stephen commands those 88 keys with his masterful sensibilities and interpretation. BRAVO!

There's so much to like about Stephen Hough. I think he and Zimmerman are my favorites, super virtuosos who never forget that the interpretation of the music is the most important aspect of their job.

The new CFX’22. Awesome at every level! It’s a toy in his hands, allowing to hear just what he wants us to hear, no fighting, just pure expression! Thanks, Yamaha!

This is absolutely astonish and beautiful performance! This is my favorite piece of classical music and I heard it countless times, but now first time from Sir Stephen - OMG this is in a way like I'm listening it for the first time again! I'm absolutely blown away with his feel for the groove and expression. Bravo!

Dear Sir Stephen Your Piano technique is incredible! Coupled with a genuine love and respect for Rachmaninoff’s genius you have produced probably the finest version of this work that I’ve ever heard! Bravo Sir! You are a master!

What a kaleidoscopic technique at the finale. With a thundering crescendo and ending in the softness of a breath you demonstrate your total mastery of the piano! God bless you! You are the best!!

I"m bragging that I had the honor of hearing Sir Stephen perform this piece at the Aspen Music Festival a few years ago. He followed it with the Lutoslawski variations. It was the experience of a lifetime.

I heard him play this piece in the the early 1980's with the Northampton Symphony Orchestra (Amateur). It was in fact his very first performance of it, I was in the very fortunate position of playing in the Double Bass section of the Orchestra. Then around 6 years ago we travelled to Birmingham to see him play it again this time with the CBSO.

One of my favorite pianists on my favorite piano! Sadly, the recording technology here does not do the piano justice. (Check other youtube postings featuring CFX, particularly the recent Warsaw Chopin competitions) Orchestra sounds good. Bad or wrong mic on piano?

I tend to concur. Awesome piano, and awesome soloist. But the sound quality left something to be desired. That's strange since we're on the Yamaha Music account. One would think that Yamaha, as a maker of top-notch instruments and audio equipment, could do better. I'm a fan of them, and this detail works poorly for their brand, I think.

This _should_ have been great, except that the conductor is an incredible mediocrity. Head stuck in the score, just giving some tempi and cues with zero understanding of the music. Pathetic. Hough deserved much better; his live recording with Andrew Litton is stunning.
