In my opinion Hiya Toys wins on the godzilla figure space for 3 reasons: 1-Quality Control 2-Price to Quality 3-Bigger Figures. But don't get the idea i don't like the S.H. Monsterarts line, they still produce SOME good figures like the Gigan one and Gamera (Sendai Decisive Battle Ver.). It's just the price and the Quality Control needs to be worked on. Love ur fotography skills keep up the good work :)

Also S.H. Monsterarts is known for having amazing articulation for some figures allowing for great posibility but right now i recommend getting older figures because it's a 50/50 if the figure is good quality or not (AHEM KING GHIDORAH 2019 AHEM) oh and also you rarely get acessories with S.H. Monsterarts Godzilla figures if it's not an alternate version (for example MechaGodzilla 2021 comes with 0 Acessories but his Final Battle Edition comes with 19 Acessories)

Here’s a very simple answer. It all depends on what you like the most as a individual for me personally, I like SH monster arts because I’ve been collecting them now for 10 years and I never had issues with them now I know that people have a lot against them, but me personally I never experienced a bad hand of figures from them now hiya i’ve only gotten two so far and that was Muto and the skull crawler only because I do not need to get any more legendary Godzilla figures I have enough whenever I get GMK and millennium that will be the true test to see if they are good figures because my first two figures were complete flops one had a broken tail and broken ankle joints and the over was stiff as a brick, and I had to use a blow dryer repeatedly like it was a neca i’m OK with that, but it’s just I see them getting way too much praise and way too much hype when personally I don’t see it and one more thing I would like to add is that sure there are people who collect figures a lot just for the general display coming from me as a perspective as I use my figures for Stop Motion if I have a figure that is gonna have loose joints is gonna have tight joints or any kind of problems I’m gonna do the best I can to fix it before I start crying to the Internet and saying that these figures are bad don’t buy them a perfect example would be my monster X after I did some adjustments to him and added some joint tightener and even loosen up his joints just a bit he works perfectly fine now and even now I still see people who complain about figures and meanwhile all they do is they either set them up and let them collect dust or they just set them up in cabinets and stuff and just let them sit there and not do anything with them so I understand the complaints and everything but why complain about a figure that you’re not gonna barely use

At this time I think it is both brands that we use to build up our kaiju collections. So it's great to have some completion, but the real winners are us collectors. Because we have options are what characters to get and others to pass on until they become cheaper in some way.

Love your videos man! I enjoy some minimal you photography myself. Thought I'd help ya out ;) Gigan is pronounced (Guy- gan) with both hard (g)s. I was also able to get my Hiya Godzilla to do the roaring forward pose. It's been in it on my bedside table for a few days now. I think the trick is to have the tail back & up. A consumer should never have a sense of fear or dread, when unboxing any expensive product, yet thats always a thing most SHMA fans go through everytime they unbox one, whether they will admit it or not.👀

@@ronniepatterson2827I think we’ll get a absolute answer when Hiya’s latest reveals come out. So far I think only ghidorah has absolutely knocked SHMA out of the park. With the current releases though it mostly boils down to shma has better articulation but is overpriced. Hiya looks better but the articulation isn’t as good but the price is unbelievably fair. I’m soooooo curious to see Hiya evolved Godzilla because the prototypes look phenomenal. SHMA evolved Godzilla does seem fantastic but unbelievably overpriced. I honestly think hiya is the better company especially with the latest reveals and prototypes, the thing is those figures aren’t out yet so we can’t quite compare them yet.

3:26 it's pronounced Gigan the I is capital. Also no the costume for godzilla vs mechagodzilla 1974 is not the same costume from Gigan. The costume from Gigan was already worn out from already being used in 3 previous movies Destroy all monsters 1968 Godzilla's revenge or all monsters attack 1969 Godzilla vs hedorah 1971 So they made a new costume which first appeared in 1973 godzilla vs megalon the re tweek it for the following 2 movies godzilla vs mechagodzilla and terror of mechagodzilla

In terms of these two figures, shma and it’s not even close, shma wins in detail, paint (hiya is more green than blue), wayyy better articulation, and even has decent accesories, (or just one) such as the battle damage head. But before people get mad, hiya does make better figures on some occasions

While it is true that the 72 design was featured in multiple movies (Destroy All Monsters 1968, Godzilla's Revenge 1969 and Godzilla vs Hedorah 1971) the design from Godzilla vs Mechgodzilla 1974 is a completely different design since Godzilla vs Gigan was the suit's last appearance before being discarded due to how degraded it got. I understand to a newcomer that they may look similar, but if you look closer, you will see the 74 design has a completely different head and more rounded dorsal plates.

If you want higher quality figures with a little bit less articulation for a lower price, go for Hiya. If you want more articulation and kaiju variety and you're fine with the drawback of worse QC with a higher price tag, go for SH.

I prefer Hiya for a few factors: accuracy (as we have seen so far with both their MV and Toho figures), affordability, QC, and feedback. Hiya listens, this is an objective fact. There’s a reason why Evolved, 2014, and GvKG Godzilla have taken so long, proven by changes in sculpt and engineering. THEY LISTEN TO YOUR FEEDBACK. Hell they just DECREASED Heisei MG tonight from $70 to $60 (which $70 was already reasonable because how fucking big it is). Like come on. Their figures have been the most accurate in terms of sculpt. The only ones off has been 21 and 17 Kong, but 24 Kong is rectifying that. And I don’t need to go into affordable prices, we all know. And so far, Hiya has been on top with their QC. Some issues here and there but that’s for all toys, the thing is, it’s not super RAMPANT. The best thing that MA has over Hiya is the articulation, and even then, Evolved, 2014 and 91 Godzilla is getting CLOSE. People will say “the MA has the better sculpting” but i disagree. MA has, and always has, been know to over detail their Godzilla figures, so much that things get muddied. But that factors in that MA stylize their figures. They aren’t going for accuracy. Hiya adds in all, or tries, the details from the original cgi files or the suit. The Hiya G2k and MA GvMega being a prime example. The MA adds way to much details that whatever facial expression Godzilla had in the film makes it look emotionless and muddies the main part of the sculpt, the Hiya is accurate as shit and because it’s accurate, the figure retains that pissed off look he has in G2K. Another issue is the lack of paint in a lot of figures and QC. MA QC is notorious, bad paint apps on eyes and teeth, figures falling apart out of the box or breakages. But I hate that a lot of these figures don’t get any addition paint, like dry brushes or all that, to highlight the sculpt. Hiya does this with all the figures, it’s a hit or miss with MA and I except better for $100 plus figures. I want fairly poseable figures. I don’t need the level of poseability that MA offers, that aspect is just a plus. I want well painted, accurate, and sturdy figures that i can put in a couple handful of poses. If you like MA, good for you, I use to too when we had no other options. Now I have an option. Hiya hasn’t let me down yet, the MA has plenty of times.

Sh monsterarts is a good production but there are some problems that are questionable *mostly articulation, paint, and there Monsterverse figures* but Hiya is also a good choice with the price, paint, and articulation. Both companies are good but one is making some VERY Questionable things, but I would say it's your choice on what to get

I have the neca and hiya thermo godzilla, and yes, they are different. First, hiya has a lot more articulation, and it's bigger. But the Neca one is made out of translusent plastic, while the hiya one is just painted (tho the paint looks beautiful). If Im correct, there is a translusent version of the hiya thermo godzilla too, but he's an exclusive. Both versions are pretty good, but I personally prefer the hiya version because it has a better sculpt, size, and articulation. Still, both figures are amazing in their own ways!

Hiya's energized goji IS translucent, you jiust need to shine a strong light directly on him and it'll shown on the other side. Also I am pretty sure he has some sort of uv light feature from what I've heard. Speaking of UV light features, I accidentaly discovered that my copy of the original hiya ghidorah has a thing where his wing veins glow a bright yellow when exposed to uv light and I thought you could try it out ! (not rly as potent as lets say flameborn rodan, who has an itnentional built in feature for uv lights, but if you're in a dark room you can still see it pretty well)

Seeing all their Toho figures, I beg to differ. MA’s stuff has been way too stylized for my tastes. GMK for example, the MA head sculpt is off and the pot belly was reduced, the Hiya looks straight from the screen, at least as possible as it can be. But we don’t have these figures in hand yet so we can’t truly come to a final conclusion. But by looking at sculpts and their models at all these past cons the last couple of months, Hiya has it in the bag.

G-eye-gan no hard G And Hiya releases especially the same figure 9 times. Small changes. You definitely need to buy a 2004 Godzilla. That’s the curled up Godzilla you showed. Lots of folks have managed to get 1972 in the tail sitting pose. Just have to curl the tail to the side a bit. The “holding” hands are when he’s clenching his hands to do a nuclear pulse in GxK. Give it a watch. Or at least look up the scene on KZbin, you’ll understand a little better then.

Both can cook, but Bandai just drops the towel way to often with Godzilla stuff, their better works are with Gamera, Monster Hunter and Yugioh. Plus fortunately Godzilla 1972 is one of the actually good figures from SH Monsterarts in their Godzilla series of figures, i hope their Anguirus is also great.

Personally I'd pick the Hiya Toys because it's True the Sh Monsterarts has more articulation and it's a New Godzilla Figure. I own this Exact Godzilla from Sh Monsterarts and I'll tell you it's the Worst Sh Monsterarts Godzilla I own. I have two older Sh Monsterarts Godzilla and they're better than this Sh Monsterarts Godzilla because of the joints. Too tight not good because the figure could break. Too loose the figure could fall apart. That Sh Monsterarts Godzilla is good but it's so flexible and posable the thighs and the base of the tail could lose the tail easily with shaking up and down motion with your hand. The Hiya Toys Godzilla is much stiffer and no worry about loose joints. He might be a bit tight in certain areas but that's better than loose figures in my opinion. I'll tell you that in the Past Sh Monsterarts were much tighter figures and not so loose like today's Sh Monsterarts figures. Back then they were around 60$ to 80$ much cheaper than today's Sh Monsterarts. Hiya Toys is starting to make their figures looser for more flexibility and not so tight and firm Figurines. Everything now is about soft and Flexible and that's good for posing but these figures are going to feel cheaper and looser than ever. Most likely More expensive for looser and cheaper, more flexible and posable figures which stinks in my opinion. I like poseable Figures but not loose, not Cheaper quality and Higher prices. Unfortunately Sh Monsterarts and Hiya Toys are already playing this Game. Good review tho. 🎉

Sh monsterarts has better articulation and joint movement. Hiya has better detail accuracy decent articulation. Sh monsterarts are extremely overpriced and easily break when opening them up or when doing different poses. Hiya is more affordable and better quality. Someone told me few days ago sh monsterarts has the best detail and accuracy for godzilla figures out of every other company has done which is absolutely wrong.
