Best sounding videos on KZbin and super cool playing

to anyone interested in this bass, there's only one thing to be mindful of. you can't have the tone on full if you're gonna slap. it's too bright, almost harsh. that's why in this demo he pulled back to 80% to get that fender slap tone. aside from that, it's the best bass in its price range. the neck alone will give you a lot of reason to take it home.

Nice to know! Or maybe we can change the tone pot to have a different sweep

just sold a v7 in ash ... a tremendous disappointment about the sound ... who would have imagined that the true sound of m.m. comes from the alder? 🤣🤣🤣

Could the 70s pickup position. Tends to be brighter. Or the pickups, or the strings. Hard to pin it on the bass itself.

I dont agree, the sound is great no harsh or too bright i Own both 4&5 Strings, the sound is amazing vintage, clean and soulful funky.

Very very good bass. The price is attractive too. And the playing is pretty neat, as usual. Thank you for this demo. ;-)

Hiya. I'm patiently waiting for my V5r to be delivered in a few days. I love the tone you have at the beginning of the video. Have you added anything to get that tone? such as compression etc? What EQ did you use? Many Thanks. Awesome Tone and skills.

I've been playing electric guitar and nylon classical for like 15 - 16 years now due to boredom of 6 stringa, I'm finally ready to make the switch. Is this a great bass for motown as well funking or is precision my best route? Thanks in advance

Hi, I realise this comment is 5 months old - but in any case that you’ve still not bought a bass then here’s my humble advice… ultimately any bass will do, the amp matters more than the bass. I have a fender P bass and a hofner violin bass and play Jazz basses all of them have the versatility to do what the others do it’s just about preference to you really. That includes looks. If you like the sound of a p bass but like the look of a j bass then go for a jazz bass or vice versa they can all do most of the same things. Obviously there will always be variations in their sounds but it all comes down to your preference of your playing style and how you make the bass sound. Sorry that this hasn’t given you a clear cut answer but this is probably the most objective one, Good luck and well wishes, Dan

Sounds really good…..but the black binding and blocks on a roasted maple neck is unfortunate. Never liked the black blocks and binding on maple Jazz Basses but it’s really gross looking on roasted maple.

You kidding? I've never seen a headstock fit the rest of a vintage white/off-white guitar so perfectly. This is one of the most gorgeous bass guitars I've ever seen, somehow pulling me away from getting the Mild Green version of the V5R that I was originally in love with.
