This roller coaster is exactly the same as the example coaster model that Vekoma has on their website for this coaster type: so even if this isn’t Energylandias tilt coaster: it’s still a pre designed layout that wasn’t designed for Cedar point. Six flags Mexico was probably looking for a cheap Vekoma to celebrate the parks anniversary, just like what Great adventure tried to do with vertical velocity, and once the plan fell through they shipped it up to Cedar point!

Besides the fact it has the same thing as Valravn where it holds you straight down over the drop and it is placed right next to it, I think it will be different enough besides that to not feel to simular. Also if you look at it, it's not a 90 degree drop, it's more like 85 degrees.

Parkitect does consider the tilt track its own block, so you can run 3 trains if you have a break run and transfer track. At that, they can at least get the crane and first layer of the station done, maybe something with the story then 2026 go full tilt with details like what's happened to the STC's at Tripsdrill and Emerald Park (although the first case was due to COVID). Maybe they get a third train in 2026, even if the circuit can't handle it because the tilt track is still too slow compared to Intamin's switch tracks. If it can reset in 30 seconds, 3 trains might work even with negligible capacity increase

In the release video, the train dips underground ~15-20ft. This dip would occur only a few hundred feet from the waters of the Lake Erie marina, which is going to be hard ask to keep the tunnel from flooding that close to the water. It wouldn’t surprise me if they are re-working the supports to raise the track to eliminate the underground portion and prevent an almost guaranteed flood hazard, increasing the height ~20ft. Hence the difference in stats from CP’s published stats and Energylandia’s.

This layout could definitely run 3 trains if the maintenance area was extended to hold 2 trains. Moreover, I think the switch track will only be able to start resetting once the train has cleared the first element, as if the train doesn't make it over for whatever reason then the back of the train could possibly roll back onto the switch section. This could also be fixed by placing friction brakes at the bottom of the drop valley boomerang-style so it can start resetting as soon as the train has gone through the brakes.

I’ve noticed some comments about capacity, and I just want folks to know that coasters in general aren’t the best way to deal with capacity issues at theme parks. One could argue the biggest flaw with parks like Cedar Point is their over reliance on Roller Coasters. Personally I’d like to see an investment into well themed dark ride attractions with this new company. Haunted Mansion style omni-mover rides that everyone could ride and enjoy. They’re generally less expensive and have high throughput.

While CP advertises itself as an amusement park, its a coaster and thrill park first and foremost. It always has been since the beginning with their first coaster in 1892, so coasters are the selling point. Also it did have a dark ride, and they tore it down. It did have a massive turn around and was the favorite for many, including myself. Disaster Transport, it was alien/space themed.
@tormentorox12 ай бұрын
@@Keyleey I’m sad they tore down such a cool attraction at your park. My home park is SFNE and it’s been around over 150 years way before Six Flags came in. I understand Cedar Point historically has relied on thrills, but that’s not really true for other parks in this new company. People don’t go to Great Escape or Knotts just for the coasters. Most people who go to small/medium sized regional theme parks aren’t coaster enthusiasts/thrill seekers. Their families bringing their kids to a park they went to when they were little. I hope the company understands that dynamic. More than anything my park needs another water ride. All we have is a rapids now after they took out our log flume, and ship wreck falls. I agree that it definitely needs to embrace the "lore" by utilizing a smart color scheme and prop layout, similar to Banshee at King's Island.

Great video like always! 🎢👌 so glad to have this only 4 hours from me. Cedar Point is getting better and better with each add on!

well with the "early summer" cedar point dosn't open till early may so i may not be open right at opening but due to cedar point opening a bit later than other parks it still could shortly after park opening this season

As soon as the coaster is released and clears the tilt track it needs to start returning to level. There is no chance of a rollback so it doesn't need to stay vertical.

I bet the taller spec is bc it won't actually go under ground since CP is surrounded by water

For some reason I like the way it slots into the line-up as a nice mid size coaster amongst the behemoths around it. If this matches the pacing of something like Lech coaster...I think it could easily be a top 3-4 in the park. Would have been cool to name it Wildcat's Curse 🐅haha...

This announcement was weird, exciting, and brings up so many questions. All in all, I think it’s gonna be a great coaster at cedar point. I just posted an analysis video as well and seems like a lot of people are on the same page about it

This Could run 3 Train just fine. Lift + Tilt will take some time (assuming at least 45s looking at the animation, Tilt isn't fast). And Layout + Clearing the brake is also about 45s. So : 1 Train in the Station / 1 Train Layout / 1 Train Lift + Tilt. You can have 1 Train sending every 45-60s with little to no stacking (if staff can keep up). And that's a solid 1400 - 1900 Rider per hour.

One of my first thoughts was also Kings Island, but then I realized, if this was the tilt coaster going to Energylandia, I think that the Vortex plot deserves to have an original coaster.

I want more info on tilt coaster and the mechanics of how they work and the failsafes that keep the train on the track during the switch
