The former siren signal "catastrophe alarm" with the original sound of an HLS F71 - this has never been heard before! But next Saturday, October 22nd, 2022 at 2 p.m., the time has come: I present to you the 21st part of my series #TimeTravel, which is something very special in several ways. For the video, the former “catastrophe alarm” siren signal was authentically recreated based on an original sample from an HLS F71. Many thanks to @FinSirens for providing his original recording. The disaster alarm was a siren signal in the Federal Republic of Germany during the Cold War, which was intended to warn the population in times of peace, for example in the event of natural disasters or chemical accidents. It was de facto a series of signals "fire alarm" (one minute continuous tone, interrupted twice) and "all clear" (one minute continuous tone). However, due to the risk of confusion with the signals just mentioned, the disaster alarm was abolished in the 1970s and replaced by the “population warning” signal (a one-minute, rising and falling howling tone). This was acoustically identical to the already known "air alarm" signal, but was called something different in peacetime. The siren is an example from the first generation of Hörmann's pneumatic high-performance sirens (type: HLS 168 / better known as F71), built in 1968. For detailed information about this type of siren, I refer you to the hochleistungssirene.de website (direct link: www.hochleistungssirene.de/ty... ). ++++++++++++++++++++ 🔊 Important information: The #TimeTravel series is a ❗fictional❗ project. ++++++++++++++++++++ Video chapter: 0:00 - Intro 0:14 - Introduction 0:35 - Test alarm 3:11 - Outro

Pretty good quality recording for 1970

the sample isn't from 1970.

Wird dann das Projekt f71 Feueralarm auf 22 verschoben?
@Rheinlandsirene2 жыл бұрын

0:35 - I don't get it, what is that metallic-like whirring-like sound these pneumatic sirens make when they sound off (if you listen carefully you can hear it).
@Rheinlandsirene2 жыл бұрын
That's the magnetic air valve.
@Dnsbbv2 жыл бұрын
@@Rheinlandsirene No, I actually mean the whirring-like distortion sound layered within the general pneumatic siren sound.
@Rheinlandsirene2 жыл бұрын
@@Dnsbbv Ah, got you! Well, I can't exactly tell you, but all pneumatic sirens of the first generation had this kind of distorted sound (more or less). In this case it is quite extreme indeed. It must be a mechanical artefact related to the chopper. Even some mechanic sirens have similar sound characteristics, e.g. this one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqqQdWuejZqNgMk

This siren sound just beautiful and terrifying, we had those siren in israel till 2012 and for real i miss those high preformence F71 sirens, now we have only electronic sirens and they are damn weak and lame compare to those!

@Rheinlandsirene2 жыл бұрын
Ja, muss man schon so sagen.
