The Whelen Legacy DUO+ Super-LED WeCan Lightbar was designed from the rugged extrusion up to maximize the performance of the hottest LED on the market. With a lower profile than the Liberty but with increased intensity puts the Legacy a step ahead of all other lightbars on the market today.
The LED modules in this lightbar use Whelen's Diamond Optix (Patent Pending) linear reflector optic design. The newly designed, high-output one-piece linear combo "Multi-Angled" corner modules produce light forward and rear and at the critical 45° angles. These four combo modules produce 360° of warning signal. All warning lightheads are True DUO+, whether one color or two. The Legacy enables you to run a Traffic Advisor and rear warning at the same time, giving the performance of two lightbars in one.DUO+ technology makes attention demanding new flash patterns possible. New flash patterns include "SteadyFlash" for use at nighttime traffic stop/accident scene for added protection for officers. Advanced Thermal Design "ATD" reduces the stress on the LEDs themselves, when the dwell time of the LEDs is extended.
The Legacy works "plug and play" with the CenCom Sapphire or CanTrol controller. A WeCan controller module is supplied for use with other switch centers from the lightbar. One piece UNI-DOME construction with a single sealing point. Each dome slides onto the aluminum extrusion and wraps around all internal components while the wiper seal protects your lightbar from the worst elements. Center divider(s) with LIM (Liquid Injection Molded) wiper seals assure lightbar integrity in all conditions. Hard-coated dome lenses shrug off environmental UV damage from the sun, salt and road chemicals. The Aluminum top shield stays cool to the touch, protects the lightbar from nature's elements such as hail and The Aluminum top shield also provides passive solar radiation to direct heat away from internal components to insure long life and reliability.
Many options are available for this lightbar. Please call for configurations and pricing.

The San Antonio Police Department uses this on their new 2015+ Ford Explorers. I know they use it because my local installer (SWPS) made a KZbin video of an SAPD vehicle. They almost look purple when they flash, especially at night because the red and blue is all mixed. They did the same with the old Edge strobe bars they had.

@tvercetti1 our new sheriffs cars in johnson county IL are going red blue for the front and red on the drivers side all amber in the middle and blue on the passenger side for our SUVs, using the federal signal legend bars....really dont care for the knight rider patterns that goes inner outter they chose....makes it kinda pointless to have all red on one side and all blue on the other when there flashing at the same time. :/ but for night time I do like that the blue and red is mixed....makes it less bright and the red cant glare as much.

Dear Sirennet, I would like to ask you, if this WeCan lightbar is controlled direct with this switch controller, which you hold in hands in video, or it is controlled via WeCan box. The cables from lightbar goes to WeCan controlbox and wecan controlbox is operated with switchbox and siren power center? thx for answer.
@SIRENNET
@SIRENNET 7 жыл бұрын
The switch controller is used to tell the WeCan box what you want it to do. Then the WeCan box controls the all of the various parts of the lightbar. The WeCan box can also be controlled by some of Whelen high-end siren and light controllers.

@SIRENNET

With the whole bar being DUO modules, it can be programmed for a full Blue only mode and then a half red, half blue. It can even be set to a full Red only.

is there a more simplified version of the Legacy available, where you just have the single red, blue and amber lights (non-duo) and just the single alley lights (as opposed to the whole corner)?

You can get alley LEDs in the corners, but if you get a we can bar you can set it up to where take down is only alley. Also yes it comes in a single color version. Can’t believe no one replied to you for 5 years.

@jaysmith1408

Dilly Dilly the colour is the only thing regulated. I can’t imagine a state stating in state code, that only a Federal Signal product is permitted. As long as it is whatever colour is permitted by state statute, you are alright. The magic of lightbars such as these, is that you can isolate colour or functionality down to a perfectly legal setting, then turn it up elsewhere. Such as, if you are only permitted to run red, no amber or white, you can disable takedowns, alleys, and traffic advisor. Then have a separa mode where those are enabled. We have people crossing borders here, where in one state, we must have blue, in another, you must have green or red. Obviously a red and blue dual colour lightbar is a sticky wicket, so you have one switch set for just red, the other for just blue, and they cannot possibly flash both simultaneously.

@brandonh5201 2 жыл бұрын
Usually IL just requires that whatever light you use is that its blue or blue/white front blue/amber rear (down state) up state i think you have to have all red because Chicago pd runs blues. Other then that you can use whatever you choose, dash lights visers bars or rooftop bars.

When it comes to colors of lights our emergency personal, construction and tow trucks use I personally would like to have a federal law that says all law enforcement have to run either all blue lights or blue/white in the front blue/amber in the rear, then fire departments run red/blue (because the fire trucks have so many lights on them) then ambulances be required to run red/green and tow trucks and construction use amber/white or amber/green(like Alabama does).....that way people can tell what's in front of them and it would be safer passing them in the highways. ....but states like Missouri, Oklahoma and texas now running red/blue or blue/amber to the rear of tow trucks and road construction.....you cant tell if its a cop EMT or some road worker:/

@@Geister7 true but the colors identify what they are plus red on a cop car is incredibly blinding at night were blue isn't, on a fire truck red isn't half as blinding(dont ask me why but it is)...doesn't matter how fast I'm going if I can't see them and hit them.

Whelen are getting worse with designing lightbars, what possibility will anyone have for a red/blue white & amber Lightbar I understand amber TA but I'm not sending that sorta cash for a bloody ugly looking Lightbar !!
@jaysmith1408
@jaysmith1408 4 жыл бұрын
skunko144 the idea is for multiple uses. Red and blue, warning colours. You could have them be the opposing dual colour, having all being able to flash both red and blue. Many departments value adding white for its punch for traffic clearing, or for night patrol, it can do that too. Amber being generally used for traffic control, that’s why it’s on the rear. The setup as was chosen here is the most common for dual coloured lightbars, if none of this was needed, it comes in single coloured modules. It can direct traffic with whatever colour the modules happen to be, Ohio Highway Patrol has their traffic advisors in blue, since that’s all they have.

Red/blue is usually for emergency responders rather it be law enforcement fire or EMTs they usually add the white for both better visibility and because its american colors (which is why texas law enforcement is now required to have red white and blue and in that order) and amber because it cuts threw for and rain.....southern states usually go blue/white front blue/amber rear so theres somethin to cut threw the sun (sense they dont use that glaring red) and northern states like NY &NJ use all red with amber in the rear so theres not so much red glaring at you at night. Same with NM personally id like to have a fed law that says all law enforcement have to run either all blue lights or blue/white front blue/amber rear then fire departments run red/blue (because the fire trucks have so many lights on them) then ambulances be required to run red/green .....that way people cant tell whats in front of them and it would be safer passing them in the highways. ....but states like Missouri, Oklahoma and texas now run red/blue or blue/amber to the rear of tow trucks and road construction....they say it makes people move over faster....i think it makes it to confusing for people on the roads, they cant tell if its a cop, emt or fire fighter or if its a construction worker. :/
