When Kit got hit by the frying pan I immediately said "Bonk!"

She couldn’t sleep, she tossed and turned. She laid on her bed, staring at the ceiling. She tried counting sheep, and then she tried singing. But none of it worked. It was just one of those nights. So she closed her eyes, in hopes that eventually the darkness would blend and the line between tired and sleepy would cross. That’s when she heard the floor creaks and the clutter of noise. She lived alone. And she had no pets. And then she remembered what the news had said earlier that night. “burglar”, she thought. Slipping slowly out of bed, she turned the corner and saw the back of the person seemingly robbing her house. She was always light on her feet. Years of sneaking around would do that to you. Once he left the kitchen, she passed by him quickly. She grabbed the frying pan. Looks like she was going to be Rapunzel tonight. Though she would much rather think she was Merida, growing up with a bunch of boys and learning how to be quick on her feet. Retreating back into the living room once she saw the man come back to the kitchen. She remembered her father screaming tips at her from the dugout when she was up to bat during her baseball years *”SHOULDERS UP, DAPHNE.”* *”SQUAT DOWN, DAPHNE.”* *”HIT HARD, DAPHNE.”* He was an old military man, so he screamed like one. And so getting his screaming notes out of her head was damn near impossible. Though she found it quite helpful during times like these. She learned to hit hard with his voice, and that’s how she was able to hit home runs each time. His voice was what made her arms bulky and his voice was what made her punches deadly. She then found the right moment, he was starting to realize the pan was gone. And as her motto went “confusion is best distraction”. She left her corner and reeled back. And she let go and let her arms lead. As the pan hit his head, she saw him fall to the ground. Yet all she could hear was the crowd going wild at her game. And her father’s old military voice peaked through *”GOOD JOB DAPHNE.”*
