The gospel is not "Christ died for our sins" if we fear God and work righteousness. The gospel is not "Christ died for our sins" if we confess our sins and ask for His forgiveness. The gospel is found in 1 Corinthians chapter 15:1-4. "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel... By which also ye are saved,... how that Christ died for our sins... he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures." Just keep it simple. (2 Corinthians 11:3) God says salvation is found through faith in the finished cross-work and resurrection (Ephesians 2:8-9.) It is only faith that can justify and count for our righteousness. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
