I made this video to help anyone having a similar issue, even though it is not as likely. Most people who use SiriusXM radio, pay for the subscription and don't let it expire. However, my family doesn't travel outside our city as much as we would like. For me, the local stations are just fine, but traveling up north there aren't many stations that play what the family likes. During my travels on a long Journey up north, I activated the Sirius XM subscription but the radio was stuck on channel 10 and would not accept the refresh signal.
If you call SiriusXM they will recommend the same troubleshooting steps, which will not resolve your issue. If you had a subscription but then you canceled it, whatever station you were on when it was turned off it will stay on that channel. If your subscription is not active you can't change the channel but you can't refresh the radio if you can't even change the channel. It is a really dumb issue, we should be allowed the change the channel regardless if you have a Sirius XM subscription or not. So, for now, this trick I found can be used for many vehicles, you just have the find the right fuse for your car radio. Disconnect and reconnect it then tune the Sirius XM radio to the recommended channels (1, 2, 184) then send a refresh signal. You can request a refresh signal to be sent by calling Sirius XM or by logging into your account online. Hope this helps someone, thank you
