I’m always going to savour the original over a cover. There really is no contest. But what I think is extremely important to notice here is that we get to examine the genius of Stevie. To be able to write those hauntingly beautiful vocal melodies over what is literally two very simple guitar chords on repeat. Some people are musicians, others are artists.

Another change. The original in the middle has: “Now here I go again …”. This version has: “Now here you go again”. I prefer the original lyric in this instance. Completely unnecessary comment....when a band does a cover like this...its because they like the song and like playing it...they're not in a studio doing 20 takes to try and sell it on an album to make money...its like when a band does a cover during a concert.
