here are some of my comments about this game that aren't gameplay related for the most part, spoileries probably ahead: i really like the artstyle. i like the cartoony and sort of "pop-out" feel that the art gives me, i guess it's the lineart that makes me feel that i also like how they shaded the red parts of mario's clothes with purple and then the green parts of luigi's outfit are shaded with blue, instead of just.. black. it looks very nice. infact, the shading in general is very good the movement animations (or atleast the jumping and running animations) i find nice. probably because of the small amount of frames in the animation making it seem more cartoonish and fast but also smooth at the same time, and the animations in general are also very smooth (i tried to explain it in the best way lol) i like that a lot of the new characters are plug outlets, (or atleast electric-theme) and i guess the plug outlets "used" are particularly the ones you would find in the US. i like the electrical theme in general. and i like the mix of both nature and modern (well, electrical or engineering) elements together the character speech sounds are very reminiscent of the ones in paper mario games (atleast, the latest ones +TTYD remake because of the different voices for each of the characters instead of just one sound for every character) I like the idea of having multiple areas broken off together to become floating islands (that look like big ships) 12:09... so, slàughter houses exist in M&L lore. lol the european vibes to the music are so cool, especially as a "western" european rumbla island has some good vibes to it, with the stone houses, and impressive "terraforming," creating stone sculptures to depict Concordia residents and also the GIANT fountain ima leave now (also how did sirloin forget about the watermark at the start, it just appears part through)

The whole virtual reality segment was trippy! Probably would have worked on Mario Luigi if one snoutet what wasn’t in Luigi‘s hat(that’s probably what broke their concentration on illusion) Two if it wasn’t endless loop if Reclusa just had the Mario Bros, relaxing in the castle but day and night cycle then even if the flying toaster(or whatever snoutlet is) was there they probably would be still under the influence of the virtual reality. The perfect trap with just two flaws one of which was mainly the giant TV heads fault

Okay, so now I can confidently write a post about this game now. I am 12hrs in and just triumphed over Great Lighthouse Island. But I have to be honest, I was becoming rather annoyed with the game. For starters, I kept wondering when the hell I was going to be introduced with a Bros. Attack or any special abilities that help you around the stages. I don’t remember it taking so long time in the earlier titles to get a least one so I was getting annoyed. Second, I was really starting to become bored with breezing through the islands and lighting up light so easily with no real context. The whole time I was thinking is there no mastermind!? Like why are they taking so long to introduce the main enemy. In the first title, Cackletta was introduced right away, so my interest was already caught. The whole time I kept saying to myself was “please Nintendo, do not disappoint me.” Because I really like the Saga/rpg titles and was so excited when this style of Mario & Luigi was coming back. Once you learn your first Bros. Attack, then I started to become more interested. And once they revealed one of the minions of the antagonist floating in the sky, I was like.. yes! So there is a big bad boss. Literally after completing Great Lighthouse Island is when it fully got my attention. I’m enjoying the game now, and love the challenges. Since the start of the game I’ve been battling without any gear or weapons, I’m doing that challenge where you have to defeat 300 enemies without any. I got 29 enemies left until I get the medal. Thank god, cause I’m dreading doing such low dmg. Can’t wait to put on equipment. Overall, it’s a fun game 👌🏾 Also, I am a bit disappointed with the battle theme. I really enjoyed SuperStar Sagas battle theme, it always got me hyped and when Mario would say “Let’s a go” and Luigi would reply “Okey-dokie.” They should have kept that.
