Liesl Walsh Photography how much does your gitzo weight ?
@lieslwalshphotography5 жыл бұрын
@@DuncanDimanche-sreview I have the Gitzo Traveler Series 2 which is a very stable travel tripod. It weighs 2.95 lbs without the head. I added a RRS BH-30 ball head which is 10 oz. :-)

@@DuncanDimanche-sreview So far I am loving it! It's more stable than my old tripod yet very lightweight.

I have the T-025, same head and same carbon fiber diameters, its just a few inches shorter. It doesn't fold as compact diameter wise due to the difference in platform. That being said, I think the t-025 is better with the center column for travel, since it folds up shorter. Since both tripods are made with the same diameter leg tubing, I've found that on the t-025 its really flexible, I'm guessing with longer legs on the am225 it would be slightly more flexible. So I use mine in the second leg position for a wider base and using the center column extension gives me a little more height. Also the 10mm diameter is horrible on the very last leg extension, its so flimsy. I only use it if i absolutely have to, if conditions are perfect. Anyways, I don't like center columns, but it works for the t-025. I like that the am225 has no center column and folds up nicer, but since I know how flimsy the t-025 is and the am225 is probably slightly worse. Having the am225 in second leg position without a center column would not have as much height. I know there is a separate center column you can buy, but then its an extra piece and makes the whole package bulkier than the t-025. My two cents. Thanks for the review.

Paul Chi i have to say that I do find the last leg to be pretty sturdy. I did initially test it out and I was going to show it but then I forgot. it wasn't bad at all though. I would use it without too much worry. i do have to get the one with the center column for sure though ;) i need the extra hight. how heavy is yours ?
@paulchi995 жыл бұрын
@@DuncanDimanche-sreview Yea the last leg is pretty good considering how light the tripod is, but its still flimsy. I only use it in perfect conditions or indoor. My tripod is under 2 pounds with the center column. The legs with center column attached is 675 grams, without center column about 600 grams. The ballhead b-00k is around 205 grams. folds up to 12 inches with center column and ballhead attached.

you only need to have a short tripod, when folded, to fit your bag. This one folds short enough to fit almost anything. After this, volume is king. And this Sirui AM225 is 1.4 liters of volume vs 1.5 liters for the T-025. More so, the T-025 is one of the least stable travel tripods around. The Sirui AM-225 is twice as stable as your T-025. Looks really nice, but how steady is it when extended?

sorry i never saw your message ! extended fully is fairly sturdy but you need to weigh it down cause it is so light

Really nice video. The design looks very nice and compact. I am currently doing research to shop for a compact travel tripod. Are there any other compact tripods that you can recommend for me to consider? I have a gimbal that can attach to the tripod so I don't really need a ballhead.

Benjamin Leong thanks man ! i did bring it to iceland i i was pretty happy with it despite not having a center column:) i would also look at the peakdesign tripod ! it looks fantastic!!

hello, can this tripod hold a 2kg lense on position too or will it tilt down by itself?
@DuncanDimanche-sreview2 жыл бұрын
it depends a lot on the type of lens... if it's a very long lens then maybe not... I haven't tried it with such lens

@@DuncanDimanche-sreview ok because im using sigma contemporary 150-600 sometimes and my tripod wont hold it :/ thanks for the quick answer

Would this hold an A7ii with a Canon 70-200 2.8 steady enough for 30sec long exposure?
@DuncanDimanche-sreview5 жыл бұрын
In0chi that's a good question but you need to take a lot of things into account ! 1) the weather 2) will you weight it down ? cause I think that it can but it's a very light tripod so it needs help to be steady enough for such long exposures. but this is a tiny tripod so it might be a bit too much for such a little guy. I would get one size up ;)

I've used it with a heavy DSLR + a 18-140 lens so it should b able to handle a mirrorless camera + the 70-200.
