I’m pretty sure you can crop a full frame 16:9 video to 4:3 and use the full image circle since that 4:3 crop ends up being about the same size as super 35mm motion picture film.

I got both of these lens to use with my FX30. They're great on this camera and are easy to focus and adjust for great exposure too!

The price on these is pretty excellent, I would think that these paired with an R50 would make a great budget kit for videography.

4k is not supported while I shoot on APS-C mode on fx3 why? please explain

It seems that when you’re shooting in APS-C mode on the FX3, you’re limited to Full HD instead of 4K. This happens because the camera is designed primarily for full-frame 4K recording, and switching to APS-C mode reduces the resolution. If you really want to shoot in 4K with a cropped format, you might want to check out the FX30, which supports that. Hope this helps!

Wow, I was just in Paris shooting almost everything with my R7 + RF 24mm 1.8 combo. The 24 would just be too tight sometimes especially indoors or in cramped touristy spots so that 16mm would have been great to have! Other than 3rd party af lenses that 16mm is probably next on my R7 dream lens list

So I have a Canon R5C and a micro 4/3 GH5... I saw RF Mount and got really excited in ordered. Now I am finding out that I have to use it in crop mode on RF mount. I really wish I would have got them for MFT... Now I don't know what to do as I just placed the order yesterday and it already shipped

Personally I would go for the 16mm and the 35mm. Great lenses but also just my preferred focal lengths for video.

I'm trying to decide between a bmpcc6k g2 to pair with my.sigma art lenses, or a couple nightwalker lenses to pair with my r7 - do you think this will take the edge off compared to my rf and sigma art lenses on the r7?

How does grading stop you from seeing the lens performance? Unless he posted the entire video in flat LOG, even the standard image profile is not the true color out of the lens.

@@Studiotek Well the point is not grading per say, but rather HEAVY grading… I think most people using this lens, that can upload a standard log to rec709 with CST transform in resolve would help much more better in terms of reviews and comparison between other lenses, than adding grains, blooms, halations and other effects that is destructive to the process and thus give wrong attribute to a lens. Don’t try to defend grading when it comes to additive creative process on a technical lens reviews, this won’t hold up in an argument

I'm wondering, I have an A7mkIV would the 16 mm work on it? or would the edges be messed up? I'm really interested, but idk if its just for APSC sensor.
