Ebert is wrong. Farina's behavior does make sense when you learn who the killer is.

THIS. He's just trying to protect his son. Plain and simple. That's why he's the way he is.

i just watched this movie for the first time, but i knew these guys trashed it when it came out so i had to find this. I get some people liked it, but i have to agree with Siskel and Ebert here, even though they may have been a bit too harsh. The movie looks good and Pittsburgh is actually a great backdrop. The story and dialogue left a lot to be desired, although i did like the killers little toy car and calling card song. SJP actually looks great in it, but as far as acting she was the weakest link. Willis is going through the motions here. It's an ok pick for a date night movie with the wife or gf, but it's nothing memorable

You have to go back to the 80s and 90s movies were better back then. This movie for today is absolutely great but for an 80s or 90s Bruce Willis movie it was about average.

Wdm not memorable? It's easily one of the better Bruce Willis action movies.

Acting saves a bad script here and even poor direction at times. Some great actors there.

The script was fine. You kept guessing on who's the killer. Everyone "knew" it was Danny, until the final scene comes.

These sanctimonious movie reviewers are the ones who are laughable. They always scream "it's tired, it's recycled..." but then say the boat chase was kinda cool. Really, is there anything that new under the sun? How many car chases do we actually see on the hilly streets of Pittsburgh, how many river patrol cops do we see? And so what if he's on crutches! Talk about majoring on the minors! And as for the boat chase scenes? OUTSTANDING! I wish these "experts" would just admit that they're waiting for the second coming of "Citizen Kane", because what they compare every film too! I love this movie, it's one of the very few I've purchased from YT... and oh, btw, that figure on SJP? WOOOW!
