Interesting. That clip from Seven where Doe/Spacey is talking about adjusting his schedule is delivered differently than it is in the final cut. I agree they somewhat overblow the violence.
@xdmaster78882 жыл бұрын
The voice in the clip is that of director David Fincher. As noted elsewhere, that was due to Kevin Spacey having a fairly distinctive voice and the producers and studio not wanting people to figure out exactly what his role was in the film (people knew he was in the movie in some capacity, but in the pre-always spoilers age they couldn't get confirmation that he was John Doe until SEVEN was released).

With Se7en, you usually just see the aftermath, not the crimes as they are committed
@threeminuteshate10 ай бұрын
Exactly, which is kind of weird they discuss it as they do. We’re left to come up with our own horrible thoughts of what happened in many cases. In their review of Pulp Fiction, Ebert in particular, says the film is not as violent as we think because much of the graphic violence isn’t explicitly shown. It’s shown even less in this but they talk about it as if you see the worst.

he sort of compares "Showgirls" to "Leaving Las Vegas" he says its so much more powerful and insightful than Showgirls, but honestly i dont think there was intent AT ALL for it to tell a story really. i think the intent was nothing more than to cash in on publicity of the uptight serious girl from Saved By The Bell getting naked, and for her the intent was to prove she had range or something and couldnt just play the uptight serious girl. sometimes films really do have no intention of greatness. i cant stand Michael Moore as a person but ididnt even know he made actual movies. im honestly surprised they both like "Seven" im also surprised they didnt make any sort of comment like it has and ending people will be talking about for years. never heard of "The Run Of The Country" i might have to look it up.

Actually a long list of actresses turned it down before they got to Berkley. She thought this would transition her to adult roles and make her a star. Worst decision ever made. But yeah it was on everyone's mind it's the girl from S By .the B. In the long run they made a boat load of money from video rentals.

The vh1/Logo edit of Showgirls is the most enjoyable way to watch it. Where all the nudity is covered by rotoscoped clothing & the ADR they used to censor swearing is horrible and clearly other actors. Basically its even more laughably bad than the original just no nudity (the only selling point for it). If you're a curious sadist that has to experience Showgirls then i recommend the full film 1st. Then the edit as a palette cleanser since its ironically funnier making it less boring and edited timewise for tv cutting the darker scenes. Or you could lie & say you've seen it to save yourself the torture. There's more enjoyable schlock like Neil Breen

Funny that they thing 7 should be NC17, when we never see anyone actually get killed and only 2 victims are seen on screen. The rest is told after the fact. There is also no nudity, and the actual violence is fairly minimum. I guess that shows the power of a great director and a strong script.

what, exactly, do we see in _Seven_ that's so extreme? the most graphic scene of violence actually shown in the movie by _far_ is the first crime scene, the body of the GLUTTONY victim. it's totally a _Psycho_ thing, where audiences were totally convinced they saw the knife penetrate Janet Leigh, but it was only the suggestion, and the style was so tight. with _Seven_ it's just the description of the horrible things, and that's what makes it so memorable, I feel. like, that famous Head In The Box at the end? all we see of it is a bit of hair. couple strands of very blond hair . . . man. what a movie. _they shud remake though adn have the head done RITE with CGI!!! and have it fly around n stuff!_ sorry. I couldn't help that.
