This was from Sissel’s Norwegianholiday special. She is an international star and records in many languages. She’s the Voice of the sea on the Titanic soundtrack . She’s in an old Norwegian village church here. They are showing the Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis here. There’s a DVD of the entire concert.

You were right. Achingly, achingl You were right. It does have a Nordic feel to it. Sissel is a truly extraordinary singer. I see someone has recommended Slow Down with the Tabernacle Choir. All I can say is that should you watch it you need to start exercising your tear ducts right now because if they are not strong they are going to be overrun. Take a handkerchief preferably two. One of the most incredible live performances you will ever witness. Loved your reaction.

This achingly beautiful song was originally an African American Spiritual. It so inspired Czech composer, Dvorak, that he made it the centerpiece of his New World Symphony.

She actually did a mermaid song. She was the singing voice of Ariel in The Little Mermaid, in Norwegian, Danish and Swedish.

The smiling vocal queen of the north. Sissel is one of the worlds best ( if not the best ) crossover soprano.
