When Sissel sang this song my wife lay dying of cancer with less than two weeks of life left after 50 wonderful years. I wish that she could have heard this song. I am sure that she would have felt peace. I know that I am after listening to it now.

As I listened to this song, I passed into a Dream. There, I heard the voice of an Angel serenading me, and a vision of Heavenly Splendor passed before my eyes. I was transported into the realm where mortal man cannot tread. Upon awakening, I saw that the Vision and the Voice was Sissel !!

Weird that she doesn't sing it like that. She leaves out the lines "Like the embers as they die/love was one prolonged goodbye." It kind of dampens the melancholy of the original.
