Glad we got to hear about colorism from the perspective of a lightskin Black woman because we never really do so thank you for asking quad. We all deal with racism from Whites and we all deal with colorism from within our own community. Believe it or not, their is colorism directed towards lightskin Black folks too. Our lives are not perfect like some of y'all think

I don't understand why Quad would even bring up the subject of colorism. Since I have been watching this show, I haven't heard them discuss this any other time as she stated unless I have not seen those episodes? I can see where Gizelle felt like she had to prove her blackness as being a black woman in the BC because she's fair skinned with green eyes... And she shouldn't have to prove herself to the darker skinned black women. What I appreciate about her is that she doesn't have this heir of acting "entitled" or "better than" as unfortunately some, not all, of our fairer skinned ladies do.

I don't think that Giselle got the meaning of colorism. Colorism is division within your own Community. We're not thinking about what the white man has to say. It's division amongst us and how we see each other. And there is light skin privilege. But maybe she didn't have a chance to touch on that.
@taryn.b
@taryn.b 6 жыл бұрын
I don't think we were watching the same interview. Gizelle clearly did state that she gets it from WITHIN the community and that browner sisters treat her as if she is not 'black enough' and that she has to prove her blackness. Watch it again, sis.
@vatricegeorge
@vatricegeorge 6 жыл бұрын
Angie Honey Giselle 100% gets colorism. She knows the black community considers women who look like her and Robyn pretty no matter what they look like. Im 100% sure the chocolate men she's dated have openly fetishized her skin complexion, eye color and hair length. So she needs to cut the crap.
@vatricegeorge
@vatricegeorge 6 жыл бұрын
Taryn that's a lie. It appears Giselle likes to create a light skin girl crew. From her business partner to her bff barely black looking women. I get it folks who look like each other gravitate towards each other. Like I have quite a few plus size friends.

Its not a topic that should even be touched on...This is a (problem) that black people created for themselves which is so silly as if the black race didn't have enough problems...this is something that should not be made into an issue there are bigger ones like...The black race knowing exactly where they come from...knowing that they are the real Jews and the ones that call themselves Jews are the synagogue of Satan, which is in the bible...knowing that there's no such thing as an African...Africa was named after Scipio Africans which was a Roman General...he conquered Mesopotamia and named it after him Africa...black people or Indian and Hebrew Israelites...all these petty topics black people cause friction over is ridiculous light skin dark skin...Get serious black people this is redundant.

Did Quad say that she is a brown skinned woman? She's insecure being a dark skinned woman. Colorism is a problem because some insecure dark skinned Black keeps making skin color/tone a relevant issue. Gizzelle is not that light-skinned. She is average light skinned, but there are Black people, whose skin is lighter than hers.

I agree that society treats dark skinned women harsher, but light skinned women get treated harshly by dark skinned women because of the way society treats them. By not addressing the colorism within the black community we help perpetuate the cycle of mistreatment because of skin tone outside of the black community

She is a joke. No first lady of anything. Actually, I don't consider her much of a lady at all. Horrible personality and she loves to hurt her co workers on the show. Yuck, yuck and yuck!!. She boasts about herself over and over and over, and I don't see why. These ladies hosting must be desperate for guest. I'll be removing this channel from my KZbin due to it's lack of talent I endured in this video.
