I am so relieved to see that people think this. I went through very similar and i am quiet about it kostly because i think people must blame me. I was the oldest and so i must have been complicit, an abuser like them. Wicked stepsister. But i was on my siblings' side and was punished for it.

This kind of stuff goes on all the time but most aren't rescued from their abuser's...I think that it's time for CPS to make a change in their policies cause a lot of children are over looked, fall through the cracks and cases closed for the children that need it most and they never make it out of the living torment they have been objected to all their short life and as for Lauren's mother she is the perfect example of a piece of crap....I have faith that one day the world will and can be a better place... Yeah….they didn’t treat her like an animal. We treat our animals *MUCH* better than they treated Lauren. That poor child had to undergo several surgeries to repair the extensive damage done to her genitals due to both of her parents sexually assaulting her & the regular rape she endured at the hands of men who paid her parents for the privilege. If someone was treating their dog the way Lauren was treated, they’d be arrested immediately because someone would call the cops without a second thought. But this kid spent years in that closet. The first cops to arrive on the scene wrote in their notes that the urine inside that closet soaked through their shoes when they stood on it. That’s where Lauren slept. After she was rescued she didn’t know how to use a toilet & had to be taught. Animals are loved

@leylakhan2213
@leylakhan2213 2 жыл бұрын
That’s not how abuse works? It’s a lot more complex than that and the psychological damage it’s causes especially in children is detrimental to their brains and early development. That’s like asking an abuse victim why they wouldn’t just “leave.” The only reason you would know at 4,5, or 6 the difference between right or wrong is if you were raised as such. These kids weren’t raised, they survived.
@dywfam
@dywfam 2 жыл бұрын
I was physically, verbally, and mentally abused by my mom and let me tell you I DID NOT REALIZE it was all an abuse and that it was wrong or not supposed to happened until i was around 17 years old. At that time I was age 4, 5, and 6 all I knew was to survive and I should listen to whatever my mom said (the abuser) didn't matter if it was good or bad because I didn't want to die in her hands. Everyone has different circumtances but based on my experience being abused since early age more over getting locked up from outside world too (though not as awful as lauren) it felt as if I was forced to believe that in this world there were only me and my mom (the victim and the abuser), so I didn't know better thus why I didn't realize it was all wrong in the beginning. Lauren and her siblings were brainwashed that everything was "right" or "reasonable" to happen too like I did, they didn't know what else to do while not knowing better because they were all still just a child (take this with a grain of salt, psychological damage is very very complex for each person and i'm only picking one general out of many possible effects). Thus why things you'd expect to be obvious and easy like running away, break free, leave, or even differenciate between good or bad were hard to do as a victim. I hope this can help you wrap your head around it at least a little better
