I remember seeing so many comments criticizing Jessi's voice/presence when kbs posted the Unnies mubank performance but if anyone watches/watched this, they'd quickly realize that it wasn't really her fault. It's obvious here that JYP was encouraging them, and Jessi in particular, to sing in their own style - he was more focused on their individuality rather their vocals matching and harmonizing. Then the live performance happens and Jessi's voice kinda stuck out like a sore thumb because she sounds louder and more aggressive than the rest - something that JYP had obviously not realized could happen. imo had this been a solo song of hers, she probably would've rocked it but since it's a group song, she ended up unfortunately sounding too harsh compared to the rest of the group and got so much criticism for it.

Sook clearly demonstrates a very generous heart too, in this series ( she also never misses a comedy opportunity, even while she's being serious). I've seen every SNSD member demonstrate selfless care for each other ( and the preparation/production crews that have worked with them) but it does seem that Tiffany demonstrates that trait 24/7. It's all the more impressive and interesting given that, from the start, her ambition was to be "a Diva"-- and it still is---yet she's also not just a great 'team player' , she's a great 'manager' too. When I first 'encountered' Tiffany' it was from casually clicking on 'SSDunk' as a KZbin algorithm suggestion. Initially I thought she was just some 'flavor of the month' pop-star, cast only because she was pretty, bubbly, and ( I assumed) trendy at the time--but her frequent absences from the show made me curiousso half way through the series, I did a little research on her. OMFG! A member of the greatest K-Pop Girl Group ever, the girl group that demolished male group primacy and 'superiority', and yet she never bragged about it or acted like the huge star she actually was. I admire her so much.

JYP reminds me of my manager, lovely/caring but firm/professional. I know everyone works differently but for me its a perfect mix. As scary as they may be when you're trying to work under their guidance, they give you the appreciation and the praise you deserve when you do well which is a greater determination when someone does, its like 1)You're proving it to yourself that You Can Do It & 2)Proving it to others too. And that will drive you and will drive them to make sure you succeed; be it through sweat and tears - the end is worth it I believe.

From a technical standpoint, Jinkyung is singing in a very light mix that has too much air and not enough cord closure. That's why her voice is very unstable in terms of pitch. If she can just close up her cords a bit more, she will sound much fuller. She's not really singing "falsetto" per se, she's just singing in a more disconnected way that is similar to a falsetto. The speak-singing thing that JYP was asking her to do helps to close her cords more, but I wouldn't call it "shouting" like he mentions, it's more like talking on pitch. I know that's not her career, but telling someone to "shout" like that may send a wrong type message on how to sing, especially for a novice singer. I never really understood the half air/half sound thing that JYP is famous for either. It doesn't even sound like it's half air either, it sounds more like 75% air and 25% cord closure.I understand singers who do it occasionally for stylistic purposes, but singing like that all the time is really taxing. Being too airy can be damaging to the voice, and can cause you to lose control of pitch. I know the demo track he recorded for this song isn't really a serious recording, but you can hear how unstable his intonation is. The GOD member who said that JYP isn't an excellent vocalist wasn't wrong lol

Yes I think the extreme example of this faulty half air singing is visible in twice. Dancing and singing at the same time takes up much air and thats why it's better to sing in an almost full chest voice to be stable. That's why jeongyeon and jihyo is very stable in live stages. Nayeon is stable evwn though she has a more nasal mix. The rest still mix in air, trying to sound like the CD version which is hard because of this half air system of JYP
