I love this disco song. I was 4 in 1979. In the early 90s as a teenager, I remember this song being played on a local Sunday Night Dance Party show (3 hours commercial-free) live on the radio from a nightclub called Eclipse in Binghamton, NY. Born as a Gen Xer, I am 49 will be 50 toward the end of 2024. My late mother loved disco when she was in her 20s during the mid 70s to late 70s. I miss her very much! I am feeling the disco/dance vibe like that I in a nightclub dancing with people on the floor. Party on 2024!

I have to say I've always been fascinated by the fact that they didn't strain to sing and never raised their voices - the result of all of those elements together is a breezy yet pulsating and captivating piece of music. Oh what the jam this is. Man I am so glad, I just finished High school as Disco hit. The music, clubs, the women, the lights it was THE time to be a young strong adult. Always sharp. Slim fine women everywhere. Not this overweight , so called thick( really fat) scene we see with women now. All the ladies wearing dresses and heels. Too fine. Twirling on the floor . Dance clubs everywhere. Also, the dance floors were lit up, lights flashing!!!!!

Interestingly it didn't happen in the UK or Europe but by 81 was morphing into the QUINCY JONES sounding era, new sub genres had formed including the eventually dominant RAP,. HI NRG and the BREAK DANCE craze of 83/84. Then we hit HOUSE Music and DiSCO had its revenge. But WITHOUT DISCO none of this would have happened

When Chic came out it was totally different. The music just fit your dance steps.. and I met this young lady, she had style and grace.. She was built like a model . We lived together and went out each weekend to house parties, discos, and parks were I see dee hated in the park. And it Chic with that classic guitar sound playing and you just hit the floor. Well that was 1979. Speed forward light years ahead two girls and now two boys and 42 years lady and it was this music that brought us together.. LB November 2021

Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers were brilliant. All there music is timeless. This song is my favorite from Sister Sledge. The guitar is dope.

When I was a little girl, I would stare at their album cover and imagine I could do anything. Songs like this gave me life. Sister Sledge was so beautiful and talented. Saturday mornings at my house with this album playing in the background while doing chores. Life was so simple and time stood still.

If youre 51 , then you were only like 9 or 10 years old in 1979, so stop acting like you was out there Partying or going to the DISCO CLUBS in "79" fool !!!! LMAO Your ass was just a little underage KID in 1979 , just like me, because i also am 51 right now, i was born in 1971, and i was only 7 going on 8 years old in 1979, in other words , these old school songs were before our real Musical Times . Our Musical Times were more like in the late 80's & 1990's Decades, when we became Teenagers in the 80's , & young Adults in our 20's during the 1990's decade .

So I have an intimate knowledge of this genre/era even if you don’t. As well as others from the time period as a lot of us do. They’re called memories. I remember that song by sister sledge 1979 I was nineteen years old when that song was out and disco was still in and I also had their album.
