I am very happy I started my own small locs with braids myself because their are only three sisterloc consultants in Washington state one of them is 3 hrs away from where I live the other 2 are 35 minutes away and there is one trainee listed on the website in Washington state

Oh wow that is crazy! If I were in your position I’d DIY my locs as well. I’m in Florida and the locticians are a dime a dozen !!

LOCK CULTURE maybe because there is a lot of people with sisterlocs in Florida here in Washington I only seen maybe 3 to 5 women with sisterlocs most have traditional locs they are men

Yes the website is very outdated. The contact information isn’t always updated. I called and emailed 10 consultants and got 3 responses. Also for such an expensive hairstyle they need more visual evidence. You’re right we aren’t guaranteed good looking locs. But sadly I couldn’t find anyone to do microlocks as a backup. Wish me good luck with the one consultant I got an ok vibe from. I pretty much followed your video.🤗

I experienced a similar situation. I contacted several certified and trainee consultants and either the consultant was no longer accepting new clients or I did not receive a response. I reached out to someone in a store who had Sisterlocks and she gave me the name of her consultant. She’s been doing Sisterlocks for 17 years but is no longer certified. I ask questions that I know the answers to to make sure that she is following the Sisterlock process. She seems very knowledgeable. I’ve set up a consultation with her.

My texture will take quite some time to fully loc but I've been diligent with the braiding and banding these past few months. (Slippage got my butt back in order 😭)
